The success of the conference is an expression of the pertinence of critical Marxist theory in these times of reaction, genocide and extinction. It also underlines the importance of trenchant, insightful and comradely debate among Marxists as the condition for the new emancipatory projects.
The hope and the political and intellectual nourishment that this gathering creates is invaluable especially in a moment where the forces of reaction try to make these gatherings more and more difficult.
We would like to thank you for this huge commitment to travel (some of you from far, at great expense, negotiating punitive border regimes), take time off/interrupt organising/work, write papers whilst juggling a million other demands, in order to come here to London for these four intense days.
A huge thanks to all the participants in the 2025 Historical Materialism London conference. The conference was a huge success with over 900 presentations and 1400 participants. The biggest Historical Materialism London Conference ever!
