Holy Moly...I was COOKING in 2022.

Here's some informal ideas, notes and possibilities for your games. This
section is just my personal thoughts, so please feel free to glean
whatever you want from this section, if it fits your table and leave the
rest in an asteroid belt somewhere.
Advice for Gms:
• "Light" tone doesn't mean silly. Starting a campaign with Cpt.
Jercc, Lyte Saberswynger, 'Stache Gordan and Oldi Von
Krust'musty, sworn to defeat the Great Kazuu Whistler isn't going
to go very far at all. The "light" tone is already baked into the
setting, lean further into drama, adventure and high stakes action.
Take the game seriously, the tone will balance out, I promise.
• Trust the dice rolls. Randomize. Think about your personal biases.
Space is HUGE. Think about subverting tropes about ¼ of the
time to make it seem familiar enough,but fresh enough to seem
new and exciting. Not every character should play against type, but
avoid stereotypes when you can and add nuance when you can't.
• Use sympathetic villains sparingly. Every character can be fully
realized certainly, but the sympathetic villain trope is OVERUSED
at alot of tables. Never make them evil because of their heritage,
physical ability, identity or orientation either. A good villain is
villainous because they have a goal, belief or ideal that puts them
into conflict with the story and its characters. You can make them
redeemable, you can make them charismatic, you can make them
have positive qualities,but by the time you've redeemed the 5th
Genocidal General and/or Ruthless Crimeboss, it gets a little old.
