more yapping bc i've been thinking on this for ages

I really wanted a shape that mimicked how the ulna and radius twist around each other when you twist your arm, but Wrong bc they don't untwist. it honestly took a while and the first version that got close was only one piece that gave me slightly more duviri vibes than i was going for. I also wanted his hand to be split as a reference to how Drifter's arm gets busted up when her hand grafts itself onto you and because Sentients tend to have a split down the middle.
also because I have this one specific mental image of how the start of 1999 goes in Tamm's version of the story and Lettie going to bandage his hand after Arthur decides to kind of trust him. she expects a pretty nasty wound and is instead met with a clean hole she can see through with threads of light slowly pulling the flesh back together.

The vanes at his elbow are loosely inspired by the ones Natah has in New War and they gently undulate. The colors i'm going with for now from baby natah.

I want to make the in between stages yuckier. like, the flesh splits and kind of sloughs off bc it isn't actually flesh, just an approximation the arm comes up with to disguise itself.

a few more random facts:
- it's firmer than it should be
- it feels cooler than it should
- he also doesn't have a pulse in that arm
-it aches in the entrati labs

so how it works is Natah's hand still maintains its mimic properties and eventually disguises itself to match him. there is some scarring tho. traces of the energy lines can also be seen under the skin even past his elbow.
extreme injury reveals the sentient bones underneath and they are much harder to damage or break. the camouflage can drop under stress or he can drop it consciously if he focuses. mostly it's changes are reactive to the situation and his emotions. I'll probably mess with and ideas for different extreme emotions
