A new Substack about collaborating. I've never been a great collaborator. Hesitant, reticent, incalcatrint and generally just scared of others. I'm still some of those things but sharing & working with people has been great. Being older helps. vicness.substack.com/p/collaboratio…
Definitely in the unhealthy zone. Limiting all my time outdoors now until further notice. We need authorities talking to us about the effects of this stuff. #wildfires weather.gc.ca/firework/fir...
I can't relate to people obsessed with Taylor Swift and Madonna (??) I'd rather go to this:
The Westwood Theatre sat at 3743 Bloor Street W from 1952-1998. My highschool movie house in the 80s.
People who are hating Carney need to know this, no one, no one in this country has ever tackled the syndicate of the big grocery chains. People called for the system fixed, well here it is. This legislation has the potential to change everything about how we eat and in some ways live.
My partner is singing with his Ottawa band at this great festival. Alleyways, porches, driveways, parks - tons of music all over the Annex in Toronto this June. More info on the website. opentuning.org
My partner's super quick sketch of me & Goya in Madrid last year. #Goya
If you think #AI films will be awesome please take seven hours & watch the 1966 film War and Peace by Russian director Sergei Bondarchuck. A computer making the same kind of film will not produce the awe you feel when you realize that this was not augmented digitally at all.
Not sure where this stat is from but all it says to me is that the arts ROI is better than most sectors without paying living wages. So, yes, get a career in the arts and not get paid as well as the oil sector.
Matthew Collings (a broadcaster and artist) at Joseph Wales Studios in Margate, UK. Apparently this is "thought provoking and poignant work". He thinks it's about resistance. I dunno, portraying a Jewish person with horns seems just anti-Semitic to me. This was one of the less violent images.
Listening to @theresthistory.bsky.social about Johnson & then being told they did a pod on Loch Ness - listened, it's great. Then remembered the most inspiring tourism merch ever. open.spotify.com/episode/1N8D...
Can't find news about this on BlueSky anywhere. Fm Twitter: Penn receiving a Ukrainian "Oscar" made fm steel that once was a train crushed by Russia. This ups the bar for any celebrity who decides to jump on a soap box & lecture us.
Finally watched the Joker sequel. It's kind of awesome. I am not sure why it was so hated. It's super creative & the music is amazing.
This blew up on Twitter & the comments were all over the place but zero insults. They were mostly smart. That platform is unpredictable.
This 1941 movie is about a rich guy giving his employees better wages instead of them creating a union. The director then went on to name names during the Black List. Crazy MAGA -esque types have always been here.
My annual reminder to be like Hermey from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: dream big, be loyal & helpful to your friends and do something useful like starting a dental plan for your co-workers.
Who are the good guys on this show? But this actor's performance - wowza. #TheDiplomat
Hey @bsky.app this is not cool. What the hell??? Never felt at home here, this does not help.
Beaumont Quay, Essex, October 2025, just me, the British landscape and my Canadian hunting toque. #UK #landscape
Back to St. Peter on the Wall. Such an extraordinary place. Where history/spirituality/landscape become one. #Bradwellonsea #UK
