Murray Leinster's "Medship" series blazed the trail for this subgenre of sci-fi. James White's "Sector General" series and S.L. Viehls "Stardoc" are also essential reading. I read alot of Michael Crichton and Robin Cook novels as a teen. Medical Thrillers + Space seem like a good pairing. 2/3

Atman was (possibly) the ultimate actor's director in American cinema. I know a few McCabe BTS stories. He used unorthodox methods to get actors into character. Sometimes he made them patch their own costumes. Other times, he wouldn't give them lyrics to a hymn so they would stumble through it.
@scottsigler.bsky.social delivered one heck of a story with the first Crypt book. If you put the Dirty Dozen on the Event Horizon they'd have better odds than the crew of the Keeling. In book two, their odds of surviving their tour of duty are even worse. #MilitarySciFi #SciFiHorror #Horror
