Help, not handouts

Many homeless people choose to leave their homes. We don't know all the reasons, but they were compelling enough.

To help such displaced persons become contributing, respected members of our community, we need to find out why they left and what would motivate them to overcome their past challenges and frustrations. Job training, emotional counselling, medical attention, and perhaps just how to look for gainful employment, these services are available if one is willing to make an effort.
In other words, they need guidance and a helping hand, not a handout. Handouts just allow spending whatever funds they get from social programs on the pointless things they do today, such as drugs, alcohol, gambling and nothing toward becoming better persons.

There are many opportunities for persons with few or little skills, such as the armed forces. Not interested? That's OK; there are many other employment opportunities, but you have to take the initiative and put in an effort t
