Misanthropic idiot. Personal assistant to small dog. Manchester. You might have heard me on Radio 4.
My friends nearby have been showing off about their fig tree having ten figs. I have three fig trees (Mediterranean-style garden) which had zero figs. But I peeked at the big one today and it’s suddenly developed 22. I’ve declared myself the King of the Figs. This is ridiculous. We’re in Manchester.
Eddie’s been to the groomers today and looks like a puppy.
Eddie this evening, in fluffy mode. He’s booked in for a number one crop at the groomers on Monday.
A scary Manchester gang next to the canal at the end of the street.
Sad news about David Hockney. Total genius. I have his Nichols Canyon hanging above the log burner. One of my all time favourites.
The wood at the end of the road. Only a few miles north of central Manchester.
I just walked past next door’s toddler who was totally blacked up and must have looked a bit shocked. ‘Ah,’ his mum explained, ‘He went to the face painting at the farm and asked to be a bat.’
This morning, I burnt the toast, then noticed the birds had vandalised the garden again, then the bin men missed my bin (having emptied all the others on the street), then my printer produced 15 pages of gibberish due to an out-of-date driver. I don’t BELIEEEEVE it.
I do enjoy The Parisian Agency on Netflix and was therefore thrilled to make this cameo appearance.
Good grief. It’s only a few weeks since she claimed the Queen was speaking to her through the corgs.
A friend of mine, with numerous health problems, is applying for social housing and has just received this utterly absurd email.
Very sad to hear that James Litchfield, my best friend from my Hertford days, has passed away. He was sooo nice and funny.
Today, I relocated two eucalyptus trees, a bay tree and three huge clumps of grass and I can finally see the olive tree which was somewhat swamped. I also optimistically removed the frost covers from the fig trees. Not bad for an elderly person with dodgy parts.
Eddie (aka Little Red Riding Dog) has a new Equifleece onesie-type coat and actually likes it … unlike the previous one which had lots of components, flaps and Velcro pads.
This afternoon was dominated by a Tuscan chicken cookathon.
Me to Eddie a minute ago: I can’t believe I’ve ended up living in Manchester with a strange dog.
It’s aged around 500, it weighs 150 stones, it’s not exactly a looker and it has a thing about Greenland. No. It’s not Donald Trump. It’s a Greenland Shark. #Trump #Greenland
The canal at the end of the street. Lots of paw prints on the surface. The local cats have discovered they can walk on water.
