I’ve been reading a lot of early Alan Moore, lately. I’ve gotten to SKIZZ (art by Jim Baike). The strip has a supporting character that looks a lot like Jason Statham. The real Statham would be a teenager when SKIZZ was published in 2000AD. Did he see this and think, “I want to look like that guy”?

Despite its weaknesses, I think ROBOCOP 3 holds up better as a film than 2. I suspect the film’s poor rep comes from the fact that it was released two years after TERMINATOR 2, and thus the “kid befriends killer robot” story paled in comparison. It was ROBOCOP VS. TERMINATOR all over again
Now onto ROBOCOP 3. Robert John Burke replaces Peter Weller. It’s sad to lose Weller but, with Jill Hennessy also joining the cast, the film does become the strangest LAW & ORDER crossover of all time.
ROBOCOP 2 also features Frank Miller as a proto-Walter White. P.S. did anyone ever discuss the idea of Frank Miller starring in a John Lennon biopic?
Inspired by the RoboCop commentaries on @blankcheck.bsky.social I rewatched ROBOCOP 2. I know people who prefer this to the original. I don’t agree, but I get where they’re coming from. There’s way more Phil Tippett SFX. The film is very interested in the sci-fi tech. I get how that’s appealing.
