Over the summer I have made and eaten two big jars of homemade kimchi that were pretty close to what I get in restaurants. Feeling accomplished and not even a little bit accidentally poisoned!
Had a baby in 2026; we can receive a $1k deposit in a so-called #TrumpAccount. What they don't tell you until you get this email is that "Trump Accounts" are managed by #Robinhood. They provide "educational resources" to help invest... Robinhood is a giant retail investor money vacuum. Yikes! 🙃
I would be more inclined to do university training modules if they included tots of rum and the ability to make tedious presenters walk the plank
It's here!! A year of hard work at @umbc.bsky.social is complete, and UMBC Review vol. 27 (2026) is in print! Our peer reviewed undergraduate research journal is a joy to work on with our fabulous team of student editors. #umbc #research
Thanks to the political science department at Johns Hopkins for hosting me today at their seminar series! Fantastic discussion of my forthcoming book manuscript!

Registering my long term fan cred before I get accused of bandwagoning this astonishing IU football team
🚨Check out this hot off the presses article with @ericjstokan.bsky.social and @natemjensen.bsky.social in Policy Studies Journal! In the paper, we examine public support for the Amazon HQ2 development across space and time, in a novel application of the political market framework!
I have a very cool job. Last night I got to sit on stage and ask Jelani Cobb questions about journalism and politics with my friend and colleague Liz Patton. Thanks, Dr. Cobb, for coming to UMBC!
It is a shame that the Pope's admonition is so urgently needed, but I am glad it was written and I hope it will have an impact on those who need to hear it.
Not the worst spot to get some writing done. If you're still sleeping on Baltimore idk at this point
I got really great feedback on some ongoing projects at this year's SPSA! Waking up to this view every morning wasn't bad either.
Update: Very surprisingly, some of the Ghirardelli peppermint bar actually made it into the machine 🍨 🍬🎄
