Trump and Republicans’ war in Iran raised the cost of gas to over $4 a gallon. Again. Trump said he “doesn’t think about Americans’ financial situation.” Meanwhile, Illinois Democrats froze a gas tax to give families some relief from his war.

Trump’s Department of Education is trying to end mental health grants for schools this month. These are grants Congress approved in the wake of school shootings to help students. AG @kwameraoul.bsky.social is fighting to stop these cuts and protect the critical support our students deserve.

Trump can spew lies about elections because people like Darren Bailey keep echoing them instead of holding him accountable. Anyone who bows to Trump lacks the integrity to be anywhere near the governor’s office.

Illinois farmers are telling us exactly what happened when Republicans cut SNAP. Fewer customers at their stands, fewer sales, and less profit. When families lose food assistance, local farms and businesses feel it too.

This past weekend, Organize Illinois volunteers, youth fellows, and candidates engaged with voters all across the state! Our coordinated campaign is building the grassroots movement to elect Democrats who are running to lower costs, expand access to health care, and protect our communities.

250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was read to the public for the first time. Yesterday, Illinois' first Black Speaker of the House Emanuel "Chris" Welch, read those same words as a reminder of what our nation stands for: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Republicans don’t care if families can put food on the table or not. But we do. Here in Illinois, Democrats invested nearly $100 million to help make groceries more affordable, including $400 in emergency assistance for families who lost SNAP because of Republican cuts.
