Taisto went to the seaside for a couple of days. Everything was very new and exciting. He's not scared of water either, as evidenced by his decision to jump in the harbour on his final walk before we left. Soggy brown clown.

My fave hund is the Finnish Lapphund. Would be lying if I said they were no work: they're reindeer herders, so are smart and want to warn you about everything (could be a wolf, lynx or bear!). Love people. Unsmelly and little shedding, bar twice a year when the undercoat drops in a tide of fluff.

Incidentally, do read it. Author's plainly smart and seeking to make a case but does come across as plausible. Knew a lot of the background already, but Sheryl Sandberg gets a right skewering, and this detail just captured Facebook's predatory, amoral corporate culture.

"Facebook does work for a beauty product company tracking when thirteen-to-seventeen-year-old girls delete selfies, so it can serve a beauty ad to them at that moment."

Here he is stood up (if in a sea wind). He's about 22kg under the fluff, females are a bit smaller and less of a mane. Such a sweet-natured, greedy, happy little guy. They will bark, as they were bred to warn of threats and herd reindeer in Lapland, but can teach to mitigate with treats.

My lad, a brown tri (brown, tan, white) Finnish Lapphund. Great dogs. Love people, smart and generally healthy. Don't shed much (drop coat couple times a year), don't smell. Lots of colour variations too: black tri most common, but also brown tri, domino, white, black, brown, wolf sable...
