Another one, this was more a style test than an actual rejected design. I wanted everything to look kind of wet and messy as opposed to Vaarn which has a slightly sharper style
Went on YouTube without being logged into my profile and got sent to the AI content Black Lodge
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds
A Citrine-Coated Volt Rat, one of Vaarn's domesticated mammals. Recognisable from their hopping gait and potent bioelectrical generation, which they use to paralyse or kill predators. The ancients reportedly kept Volt Rats inside prison orbs and would release them to battle other fighting beasts
Early work for the referee screen for 2E. I want it to look like a kind of psychedelic science fantasy altar screen or tapestry. Much composition work to do here I think
Sometimes you do the perfect sketch and have to step away from the pencil for a bit
Still working on the armour. I want to combine flamboyant heraldry with modern riot armour for horses. Destriers can be used to close distance on enemy artillery and infantry formations so they need blast and impact protection
Sketches for a Vaarnish Destrier. I’ve ended up looking at greyhounds and cheetahs as much as horses for these guys, due to the insane sprint speeds Wolfe described the BotNS originals achieving
Revisiting Dinotopia with my son and realising how formative it is for me as a building block of my imaginary vistas
The Last Autarch's palace grows, albeit at a slow pace. Have hit a wall where expanding it organically and without a plan has started to reap less rewards, so probably going to sit down with pencil and paper sometime to map out the overall structure
