Imagine borrowing money so people keep driving old fossil-fuel cars. It is not only backwards. It is economically absurd. Our financial minister just said she is proud doing this.

This was long before the pandemic. We used a very early version of Zoom to bring speakers into our events remotely, live from five continents. We did the first “no-fly” climate conference this way already 2018. Here is what it looked like behind the scenes

This is a pretty cool memory. In 2021, after We Don’t Have Time pioneered large-scale digital climate conferences, Facebook copied us and launched its own Sustainability Forum. They did it once. We kept building 5 yrs later, we are challenging US Big Tech with W. Funny how things come full circle

Amiga BASIC was a terrible program. It was developed by Microsoft, if I remember correctly, it was the only software they ever made for the Amiga. Still, it brings back so many great memories.

That’s old school. My family’s first computer was a Sinclair Spectrum 48K. After that came the Commodore 128, and then the Amiga. All of that was before soulless PCs and Macs took over.

One of the things I was developing was an early social media (BBS) called NT-Pro. Before the internet became mainstream people dialed directly into my computer over telephone lines. At one point, I had four phone lines running into my teenage bedroom so multiple people could connect at the same time

Not many people know this about me. Long before I founded We Don’t Have Time or helped build W, I was a self-taught programmer. It all started on my brother’s Amiga 500, where I learned Amiga BASIC. Later I moved on to C, programming on an Amiga 1200 and eventually an Amiga 4000.

The future is worth building only if places like this remain.

When I spoke with him I simply wanted to thank him. For decades he has championed climate, nature and science, long before these issues became mainstream. I gave him a #MakeScienceGreatAgain cap. His smile said more than words ever could. The solutions exist. Now we need the courage to act. 💚

London was in the middle of an extreme heatwave. Inside St James Palace there was no air conditioning. More than 200 climate leaders literally felt the heat as King Charles III gathered us to discuss climate action. Standing beside me was António Guterres whose speech hit even harder in that room.

Yesterday, for the first time, I met a King. I've met presidents, prime ministers, CEOs, Nobel laureates, and many of the world's leading climate scientists. This meeting was about one of the fastest ways to slow global warming: cutting methane and other short-lived climate pollutants.

Not every day you receive a command from The King. Honoured to attend today’s reception at St James’s Palace hosted by His Majesty King Charles III on reducing methane and other super pollutants.
