After this weekend, there can be no doubt. @devindra.bsky.social will win the #summerMovieWager, calling 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 10th place on the nose. There were only two others (Germain and David) who even got 1 movie in the correct spot. Congratulations! Can't wait for Devindra's pick!

My projections for the top 10 movies of the summer in table format. Spider-man will be 1st, followed by The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Obsession, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Backrooms, Minions & Monsters, Star Wars, Moana and Disclosure Day. Devindra wins with 59 points. Germain will come in second with 49 points.

I'm calling it now, I thought @devindra.bsky.social's path to victory was narrow. I was wrong. By Monday I think 3 things will be clear: The Odyssey will overtake Toy Story. Spiderman will be beat TS as well. And Devindra will WIN THE SUMMER MOVIE WAGER in 2026!

And by the time Spider-man comes out, we will know if the Odyssey is likely to surpass Toy Story. If it can't, Devindra's chances sadly drop to zero, and it's down to Peter and Germain. If Spider-man wins, Germain wins. If Toy Story wins, it's Peter. 4/

In another week, we may get a better sense of what place Moana will end up. If it never catches up with Scary Movie, that opens up another avenue for Germain and Devindra's chances evaporate. If it can't catch up to Disclosure Day, BJ is out of the running. 3/

Based on pre-sales, I think Spider-man will be a smash hit and overtake Toy Story (70% chance). If that happens Germain wins. That leaves a 25% chance that Peter wins or ties with BJ. And Devindra has only a 5% of winning (the Odyssey would have to beat Toy Story for 2nd). 2/

I made some changes to the projections of my website about the #SummerMovieWager. I refined the methods that it uses to project future box office for movies that have been released and I added a chart which shows those projections for the current top 10 movies. summer-movie-wager.netlify.app

Facebook is so broken. I have a chrome extension that filters out ads and promoted posts. It's an ongoing arms race. Facebook makes changes to thwart the extension. The extension makes changes to catch up. Today it caught up because of the 20 first posts in my feed, none were by friends:

From October 13 to November 2, the RealClearPolitics average showed 43.7% approval and 53.6% disapproval, a spread of –9.9 points. CNN’s poll from October 27 to 30, based on 954 registered voters, reported 39% approval and 61% disapproval, a –22 spread. NewsNation’s survey from October 27 to 29 of 1,159 likely voters found 43% approval and 56% disapproval, a –13 spread. CBS News, polling 2,124 adults from October 29 to 31, recorded 41% approval and 59% disapproval, a –18 spread. I'm finally watching Guardians of the Galaxy pt 3, and I'm at a part of the movie where Rocket is running along Groot's arm, and I'm realizing... OMG, Rocket, who is a Raccoon, is best friends with Groot, who is A TREE! It took me over a decade to realize this.
