I live to read, sometimes occasional amateur photographer, cats, care about this beautiful world and social justice. I help raise money to plant trees. “In difficult times carry something beautiful in your heart.” - Blaise Pascal. Kindness always. 🇨🇦
I absolutely love illuminated manuscripts too. In 2023 I saw the Book of Kells in Dublin too.
#SmallBeautiesHour seems to be disappearing her and on X but Heres my contribution this week- our early flowering cherry has now run riot.
The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls. John Muir
#smallbeautieshour Despite a polar freeze over most of Canada, my little corner is mild. And the hellebore likes it. We may get snow later this week but this little hellebore has survived that two years in a row now.
Quite late for #SmallBeautiesHour. Too big for our tree, so it has its own stand. One of my favourite ornaments.
#SmallBeautiesHour I volunteered at a holiday faire this weekend. It was a lot of fun. Here’s part of the “new to you” table. There was masses of baking, but alas no photos.
#smallbeautieshour I’m a bit late. Anyway I have been loving the autumn this year. It’s still just barely hanging on….
Late for #SmallBeautiesHour. … it’s been raining a lot here, but the colour has been glorious.
I’ve been indoors a lot this week - quite rainy. So I am beginning to tackle decluttering. It is daunting. I need to be the words on this rock (seen outside in 2020). Each thing I recycle/donate IS a #smallbeauty #smallbeautieshour
#smallbeautieshour Autumn has arrived. Most trees are still green, but some colour is appearing.
Some dahlias that we purchased from someone who has had to give up gardening (from her garden), which we planted too late, just bloomed. We had no idea what they would look like. #smallbeautieshour
Last week I went apple picking. I did not photograph the apple trees, but I did take photos of the pumpkin field at the same farm. #SmallBeautiesHour
For #smallbeautieshour. This has been a true nothing week. So another photo from Mill Bay, Vancouver Island the previous week. And a resolution - no more nothing weeks.
#SmallBeautiesHour. Went to an exhibit about Indian chintz at the Royal BC Museum. Beautiful material and clothing and interesting history. Its role in the development of the Industrial Revolution and the growth of slavery in North America because of greater demand for cotton.
A few entries for this week’s #SmallBeautiesHour Cheery geraniums at Fisherman’s Wharf, Victoria BC.
