MONDAY HEART MAGICK Failure is a greater teacher than success. —Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run with the Wolves This essay isn't even about failing. It's about what you can do next. #heartmagick #rejection #clarissapinkolaestes #itsokay
MONDAY HEART MAGICK I sing to Pallas Athena, dread guardian of the city. Warfare is the province of Athena and Ares: sacked cities, battle cries, and wars; she guards people setting out and returning home. Hail Goddess! Grant us prosperity and luck. Homeric Hymn 11 to Athena, trans Diana J. Rayor
Self Devotion - Day 31 (LAST DAY...for now) Whatever you like/love I return to myself. This confusing, wild-hearted, soft-bellied self. This creative, kind self. This open rose, mightily thorned self. Return, return. I am grateful to return to her #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo
2 things (well, 3): (just checked a few booksellers and many of my books are running low...so, if you want one, you may need to wait. #whataproblemtohave) AND you can PREORDER: ATHENA: Goddess of Wisdom and War buff.ly/GMVRQu6 WHEN APHRODITE CALLS: A Journey into Love's Mysteries buff.ly/rw6F67d
Self Devotion - Day 30 Journal I journal every morning and night. AM Gratitude - at least 3 things Make Today Great - at least 3 ways I can support myself Affirmation(s) - This varies, PM Successes - things that went well Learnings - what I learned that day (pic of my current journal)
...and next week, let's celebrate Athena. #athena #goddess #greekmythology #festival #ritual
SELF DEVOTION: Week Five 29. Reflection time 30. Journal 31. Whatever you like/love What would Aphrodite do? #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo #lifeisalovespell
Self Devotion - Day 28 Gratitude to others As I sit on campus, I think about how many people helped get me here. And I am grateful. There are too many to name, but I see each one of you in my mind whenever I have a moment to take it all in. (and cats.) #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo
SUNDAY/MONDAY HEART MAGICK What men or gods are these? What maidens loth? What mad pursuit? What struggle to escape? Ode on a Grecian Urn, by John Keats Today, we continue to hear about Circe, as well as about harder themes that Greek mythology introduces to the modern reader. [Content warnings]
I got published again...this time, in my school's student newspaper, Semper Floreat. Link to a digital copy (I'm on page 45). buff.ly/vdAYmJc #perimenopause #comingofrage #semperfloreat
Coming up on Sunday/Monday: There is more to Circe's story, with insights and observations from feminist scholars. I also share a bit about r*pe culture in Greek mythology, so content warnings abound. #circe #greekmythology
Self Devotion - Day 22 Leave a love note Dearest one, May growing grant continued softness, & stronger knowing, & a wiser heart, & more (seemingly) ridiculous dreams, & unstoppable laughter, & wild adventures, & devotion, & love, ever more love. #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo #loveletter
MONDAY HEART MAGICK Tell me about a complicated man. Muse, tell me how he wandered & was lost when he had wrecked the holy town of Troy, & where he went, & who he met, the pain he suffered on the sea Homer, The Odyssey, trans. by Emily Wilson Today's essay is about the Odyssey, choices, and home
Want to dive a little deeper into Greek mythology? I wrote a book for that. PANTHEON: THE GREEKS 200+ pages of gods, heroes, history, myth, ritual, analysis, and more. buff.ly/0OfdJC6 #greekmythology #pantheon #greekmyths
SELF DEVOTION: Week Four 1. Leave a love note 2. Invoke Aphrodite 3. Invoke myself 4. Invoke possibility 5. Gratitude to self 6. Gratitude to Aphrodite 7. Gratitude to others What would Aphrodite do? #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo #lifeisalovespell @irisanya.moon | www.irisanyamoon.com
Self Devotion - Day 19 Ask Aphrodite for help I asked Her for guidance. I asked Her for the truth. I received it. I'm now trying to hold it, and myself as I receive what I asked for. #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo #aphrodite #help
Let's talk about Circe, one of my favourite parts of the movie. And there are pieces missing, which is understandable. But I want to share them if you don't know them already. Unsurprisingly, I have a lot to say about 'The Odyssey,' and here is one of the pieces I have been compelled to write...
MONDAY HEART MAGICK "Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences. Let me someday see who I am.” —Sylvia Plath This week's lyric essay asks for reflection without promising a clear vision. #heartmagick #reflection #mirror #sylviaplathquote
Self Devotion - Day 13 What I needed to hear It's not about your needs. We just don't have the capacity to meet them. You aren't doing anything wrong. It's not about you. You don't have to try so hard to prove you deserve more. You are still loved, lovable & worthy even if we can't show it to you.
SELF DEVOTION: Week Three And this challenge/not-a-challenge continues. What have you noticed? 1. Find flowers 2. Soothe my skin 3. Tense and relax 4. Notice love 5. Ask Aphrodite for help 6. Ask a friend for help 7. Create What would Aphrodite do? #selfdevotion #whatwouldaphroditedo
Coming in late 2026... PANTHEON - an exploration of Greek mythology with Irisanya Moon We'll begin with the stories that continue to captivate, as evidenced by movies like 'The Return' and 'The Odyssey.' Stay tuned...I'll have a signup list and more details to share soon. #greekmythology
SELF DEVOTION: WEEK TWO This is an invitation to join me in self devotion practices for 31 days. 8. Write a poem 9. Thank Aphrodite/the divine 10. Rest in the darkness 11. Find the growing light 12. Move 13. What I needed to hear 14. What I need to hear now What would Aphrodite do? #selfdevotion
MONDAY HEART MAGICK [W]e are well advised to keep on nodding terms with the people we used to be...Otherwise they turn up unannounced & surprise us, come hammering on the mind’s door at 4am of a bad night & demand to know who deserted them, who betrayed them, who is going to make amends Joan Didion
Self Devotion - Day 6 of 31 Awareness of Beauty Self devotion today is to recognise beauty in how something makes me feel. I see the beauty of a piece of salmon I cooked this afternoon. Not because it was a certain time of day or part of a meal plan. Because I was hungry. And that is beauty too.
Self Devotion: Day 5 of 31 Altar Aphrodite is at the center, the embodiment of my magick and my heart. She is beauty, love, and intiation(s). I return to her altar in devotion, in my vulnerability, in my joy and my grief. I return to our sacred vows to each other. And in doing so, I am altered.
HECATE is [a]n invaluable resource for any & all thinking about taking it upon themselves to start to learn more about the goddess, the book also serves as a highly intoxicating, & historically alluring backstory on her mythological heritage & traditions. Read: buff.ly/S3fILyl
Semester 1 grades are in...I did really well. I learned so much already, and I am real proud of myself. Even though there were a few things that I wish I'd done better on, I know I did the very best I could. Can't wait to see more of this ongoing love spell I'm creating and living. xo Irisanya
HECATE, HECATE, HECATE She is here, mostly, depending on the retailer. I am so happy to share this book with you. Hecate was one of my first deity relationships, and she has walked with me during injustice and grief. She lights the way and reminds me of my power and discernment. buff.ly/vB7khQu
