spoilers wrt fate of Zul'jan in 12.1 storyline

Quest completion text for the raid. Liadrin tells the player character, "Zul'jarra will blame herself, but we know that she did everything - everything - to try to save him."

A stay a while and listen between Liadrin and Zul'jarra after the raid. Zul'jarra says: "Zul'jan wasn't de easiest brother to live with. Always getting into trouble. Always needing me to pull him out of it. No... I always thought he needed me. But maybe I needed him. To protect him. My little brother -- Jan always acted like he had a ghost watching over his shoulder. Like he had to make our ancestors proud. I just wish I had told him dat he didn't need to."

if I had a nickel for every time we came across ethereals in a draenei tomb I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's pretty funny it's happened twice

Playing through 12.0.7 stuff and Naigtal is a DRAENEI COLONY PLANET?? The planet's natives named it Naigtal (according to the console at the start), but the draenei refer to it as Teloru'vil. That explains the Burning Legion's interest in the world though since they were hunting the draenei!

Quest text from one of the quest items that drops from new content in 12.0.5. Aethas is translating a naga scroll for the player character that says, "Deepest tidings, Princess. Nar'jira the Honored graciously offers you her chosen to aid your endeavors in Eversong. Accept and behold the Deeplurk's mastery over the powers of old. Do not shirk this offer like the Darktide who refused her aid in their foolish pursuit of the Stormcursed. Once you have what you need, return to the deeps. When the Concord of Tides is called, we must be the first to answer."

I am BUZZING about this cinematic holy crap, the flashback scenes are word for word from Blood of the Highborne down to the details about the rain, Vandellor lashing out at her with his nails, the abomination killing Vandellor with its sickle, everything!

it's VERY interesting to me that Xal'atath telling Salhadaar she "offers a true path forward" aligns more with how the Light views things than the Void

An excerpt from the 1000 Years of War audio drama in which Locus-Walker tells Alleria about the nature of the Void and Light. He says, "The Light seeks one path and shuns all others as lies. The Shadow seeks every possible path and sees them all as truth."

Found some Haranir hanging out at the world trees 👀

Gossip text for the Haranir at Vordrassil:

This ancient tree was severed from the Rootways. Sitting here, communing with the spirits, I can understand why. There is something wrong deep within its roots. Something ancient, far more ancient than the tree itself. I am told the source of corruption was destroyed, but long after the tree was felled. I will have to see what our ancestors knew of this. That tree was to be a guardian born of benevolent act. Now, only a shadow remains here, and a towering stain on a distant dream.

The gossip text for the Haranir at Nordrassil:

Being here, seeing the tree, I now understand. The tree is more than the sum of its roots. This is true for us as individuals, as well as for our people. We are part of this world, and the goddess would have wanted us to see her glory. The isolation of our people should be as yesterday's breeze.

What the Haranir at Teldrassil has to say:

That once magnificent tree, far off in the distance, its bark singed, the pain and trauma soaked down to its roots. I remember the day. A dark day not so long ago. For a time, many of us were as damaged as the roots. Meditating about it over here, seeing the sight with my own eyes, and learning of the story...

What the Haranir at Shaladrassil says:

The corruption is fading away. There is a distant song of cleansing surrounding its branches. When the guardian became corrupted we shared the story with our young, yet we did not come to the guardian's aid. My people became blind to the world, shrouded in our beliefs, locking everyone out, letting the world that surrounds us burn in countless perils. Coming here has shown me that, in some ways, we have failed the goddess. But it is not late. It is never too late.

The non-draenei version of the first quest in the Nethersent local story. It says:

My elder sister, Tul'amar, has a plan to get us home. Set me free, and I'll take you to her.

Draenei-specific dialogue in the Nethersent local story:

Thousands of years separated from our kin on the Genedar has a way of carving rifts between us. I should explain. Many of us followed our Prophet Velen in his great flight away from Sargeras's Legion. Perhaps you know the many worlds we sought refuge upon. Perhaps you stepped foot upon some of them yourself, as we did. Worlds of snow and ice, of mist and bush, of endless oceans. No world we could settle for long. The Legion came, as always, and I and others who could not promptly return to our dimensional ship were left behind. We watched the Genedar drift into the sky until it was nothing more than a glimmering dot. And then, gone. Since then, we have survived in the Great Dark Beyond. Alone.

When asked where the Nethersent draenei are from, this is the dialogue response, which can be accessed by both draenei and non-draenei alike:

Nashabor. Settlement of Blades. It is a world of natural beauty. Crimson salt plains give way to cool, purple lakes. Our rivers re choked with huge, sturdy lillypads. The sight of a draenei napping upon one, drifting downstream is common in times of peace. Our young learn to fight early, far earlier than they did on Argus. Martial and arcane skill is essential to survive attacks from its great, intelligent beasts. We have been through cycles of strife and renewal. We have made unlikely allies of Legion defectors who live among us in small number. And we have largely rejected the forces that began our great flight in the first place -- be they fel, Void, or Light. Our sayaad are naturals at jed'hin. They are a pleasure to spectate.

a little fun fact you may have missed: the Maisara Caverns dungeon in Midnight canonizes more RPG lore! In Lands of Conflict, the Maisara Hills are a subsection of Zul'Aman "sacred to the trolls" (though it doesn't really say much more than that).
