there's a reason i got this tattoo

a picture of my left shoulder, with my right hand holding my t-shirt (the cover of Slowdive's Pygmalion LP) sleeve up so my then-new tattoo can be seen. it's the TCGS show slogan "LOSE WELL," in my case done in the handwriting (from Murph, maybe?) that was used on the old button design et al

reminds me of one of my favourite political alignment charts ever

One of those quadrant charts often used for political alignment, except the top is "Hear it Hurgling," the left is "Those Ferrari," the right is "Hi Doggy," and the bottom is "El Wiwi." These are all based on memes. The cardinal and diagonal extremes of the chart feature portraits of various types of bats, fitting each category and the midpoint between them.

taking the dundas streetcar home, why not drop by the AGO and hang out with the Rothko a bit?

A picture I took of Mark Rothko's "No. 1 White and Red" in the Art Gallery of Ontario from the couch on the other side of the room where it's displayed. It's a large black canvas with three horizontal colour bars, top to bottom white, red, and brown. The bars are rectangular but with indistinct edges and also the colour isn't always totally solid. The picture is from far back enough you can see the barrier showing how far back you should stand from it and the track lighting on the ceiling.

if i have a friend over and we're talking in the living room, Dolly will hide in the closet (unless she knows you already). but if i'm alone and talking (phone, zoom, work call) she always wants to come over and snuggle and be involved. it's extremely endearing.

Dolly, a small black and white cat, in loaf form atop her pouf on a hassock I keep next to my desk chair because she likes to be close sometimes. This is her primary point of entry and egress for my lap. She looks very attentive.

- new computer, ready to try Hades 2 - play for 6 hours - finally have a run where I beat the Fields of Mourning boss - same run, kill Chronos the first time I get to him - one HP left - I have to be up and at work at 9 am

A picture I took of my computer because I could never get screenshots to work while Hades was running and I was so shaken when I did this I didn't even want to try. It shows my win screen the first time I killed Chronos in Hades 2, featuring 1 singular point of health, no death defiances, and the main hammers/boons/keepsake I used to do it.

Taken directly from CRJ's own website's product listing for this 10th Anniversary Edition, this image shows the tracklisting for the second LP with all the songs from Black Heart through to Cut to the motherfuckin' Feeling NOT tagged as bonus tracks i.e. they are considered part of the album proper, which I am hooting and hollering at FINALLY MY 65-MINUTE VERSION IS CANON also on first listen to the new actually bonus tracks are pretty good! I will probably be obsessed with some of them soon!

this year's Glory by Perfume Genius, an artist I have been following ever since a random MP3 of "No Problem" before his first album even came out detonated my heart; Mike Hadreas sprawled in a living room like he's just dived in through the large window except the window is still intact, Alan Wyffels looking on seemingly nonplussed

May 11: araabMUZIK - Electronic Dream 2 (2012) Like the first, keeps things nice and concise; manages to expand the territory some but still scratch the same itch as its predecessor. Kind of not surprised these didn't really catch on, but I like them.

May 1 - Russ Abbot - I Love a Party (1985) "Atmosphere" in the PPP and a "just trust me bro" comment on Discogs got me to check this out; a MESS! Covers are mostly horrible but then it hits KC and the Sunshine Band's "Give It Up" and you can see how it might have worked with better choices.
