I am a ghost horse. May contain naturally occurring sentiment.
And even through the mess and claws and constant clean-up, I don't regret it. I don't know why she chose me. But seeing her get a moment of peace while her kids bounce off the walls and fall off all the furniture is comforting.
Smoko, his sister. This is the only picture I got of her that wasn't a blur. She is also trying to learn how to operate the doorknob, leaping and hanging on in an impressive way...that also makes me fear the day she succeeds. A bit smaller, has her mom's attitude and distrust of petting.
Ruby, 4 months old with a purr like a motor. He is the first of the family to seek out my attention and is so far unsuccessful in getting his mom to open up. Big feet and kinda clumsy. He has stolen my heart.
Brandy, a feral who decided she didn't want to have another litter outside and ran in my house this past February. Made no noise when she had her kittens, and spent the entire evening of the Fourth huddled in a corner in the same terrified manner she had when she first arrived.
Animal distraction thread! First, Monty. Rescued him from my backyard, a stray that had been dumped and now buries his face in my arm when he gets the chance. A big sweetie.
The feral family, three months in. Ruby, the long-haired kitten, is starting to rub against my hand. Smoko, the short-haired kitten, is a climber and will not tolerate your shit. Brandi, their mom, craves violence except when there are lickable cat treats in view.
My hands have scratches from the feral mom, but both she and the kittens have received the first bribe of chicken. What a year...
The feral kittens are biting my feet, chasing each other under the couch & around the room. Their mom is still not crazy about having her personal space invaded, even if it's reaching for a dirty dish. This is not where I expected this year to go.
The feral cat is officially the proud mama of two-week-old kittens. And she is not here for any of my (or your) nonsense or guff.
Monty is supportive of this, and also believes that ICE is a terrorist organization.
The feral mom is protective of her week-old kittens. She has also decided to raise them as Vikings fans. She still hisses, but does blink from time to time.
This mf'er looking like a tryout for Arthur Hodgson & The Kneecaps. None of them can stand like normal people.
I'm in trouble. The feral mom-to-be walked in and has parked herself on the cart shelf. Oh, I am in trouble.
An hour ago, someone decided this was a good idea to respond to an angry constituent. Rockford, IL -- I think we deserve better.
I said what I had to say, and then hung up before she could give me the standard verbal brush-off. Wrote this in the driveway. I initially misspelled it at first, but I don't care now. Because (cont.)
Watching Patrick Ireland crawl out of a second-floor window to escape the Columbine High School shooters. CNN forecast their interest in bloody spectacle and acquiesence to authoritarians by replaying the clip like it was a Rob Gronkowski touchdown.
Can't wait for this to be nothing but conservative churches and a book-banning group founded by the author's wife as a social activity.
The NFL made their morality clear the day they erased END RACISM from the end zone so as to not offend Trump or President Musk. Mina may as well ask the Triangle Shirtwaist owners to put a copy of the front door key in the pile of scraps where the cigarette fell.
The Heat appear to be the first team to do this and I hadn't seen anyone else throw it up. So, from their various socials:
