A new system update is available -> A new controller update is available -> A new software update is
I’d be very curious to see how Nintendo Switch 2 joy-cons are selling bc almost everyone seems disappointed with colorway treatment. Still assume it’s a manufacturing/differentiation thing but even having the face buttons be the pop of color instead of/in addition to the rail might do it for me atp.
I’m noping out on the Cyberstation Zone boss, which takes Game Gear Sonic 2’s Under Ground Zone boss and combines it with the Stardust Speedway Metal Sonic fight. The slow acceleration and momentum-killing landings don’t feel great. And neither does this.
Picked up Sonic Superstars for the first time in a while and I’m calling it quits. I want to like it but there’s some kinda weird choices and inconsistencies here. Like?? 😭
🎶I’d like to remind: Cousin Shirley’s birthday’s Tuesday And your Uncle Rob’s is Thursday (yeah)🎶
The new joy-con colors are cute I just wish there was more of it. It’s like 2% of the controller when attached 😭
I’ve been wanting a côte&ciel bag for awhile now but they seem to have abandoned all of the interesting colorways. Look at the difference in 2 earlier colorways versus recent ones.
Apple’s Shared Album implementation is functionally useless. What’s the point of using this feature if someone else can delete the album owner’s original photos AND the people it’s shared with don’t get an exact duplicate of the original?
I find it fascinating that Polymega’s able to have a database of all the official artwork when Analogue wasn’t. Would love to know more about that. Also: I like the look of their physical release packaging, but wish it wasn’t locked down to proprietary hardware. Ditto backups but igi
Feels like a PM02 would be a good opportunity to examine the modules a bit. Maybe revisiting FPGA and using something more akin to the Analogue’s Pocket adapter system versus shipping with a dust cover.
Okay yea I get it now. It looks neat in theory but has a long list of caveats at a high price point. Would love to see them/ayone take another shot tho. Maybe unbundle the controllers? It’s the opposite of what folks said for the 3D but it’d help with the price point and they seem to be iffy.
Is this just a relic of older plastics or are white Analogue products destined to look like this too?
Also played the Lelu demo this weekend. Really fun and engaging. Incredible aesthetic. I’m definitely looking forward to the full release next year. Feeling pretty inspired coming off both of these play throughs.
Some of the reviews for this kind of bum me out. Despite the Steam page detailing a “concise” game with “3 bosses” and an “hour-ish runtime” most of the negative reviews knock it for being… short. idgi
Played and beat Castaway yesterday. It’s a cute, bite-sized (it’s described as concise) Zelda-style game that has me wanting to finally play a top-down Zelda game. Furthest I’ve gotten in the post-credits “Survival Mode” is 44/50 rooms.
I do wish there was a bit more to it (an Open FPGA chip and a disc drive would be 🔥 but also 💸) but honestly the Analogue 3D seems like a decent product. At $250 it’s not exactly affordable but it’s also not super pricey considering a used N64 might run ~$100. It’s also very pretty lol
Everyone says this but my understanding is vaccination and testing numbers don’t support it. The easily observed reality of masking in, say, healthcare settings certainly doesn’t align with a commitment to public health.
Finished Eastward this weekend. What a weird little gem! Beautiful, aesthetic backgrounds, great character animation, full of quirk. Soundtrack’s full of bops.
Also the premise of taking this live-action family film about a hockey team and making into a sci-fi superhero series reminds me of those Garfield Pet Force books from around the same time.
