All of the illustrations for Satyr vol. 2 are made from found/recycled/reused paper and card - cereal boxes, packaging, envelopes etc. The only "new" thing added is acrylic ink/paint and inkjet ink! #illustration #zine #folklore #collage #art

Methe: They won't help me. i was charged by the sidhe to lure mortals there, but there was no one on the road... Ocke: only me. [he holds the handle of his knife while firey colours surround him] Methe: i was made from a dead buck. they say it was rotten. eaten by foxes and crows... and so i'm ill-made. with parts missing. [the bottom half of the page shows a dead and rotting deer surrounded by bluebells].

Methe recites the lyrics from John Barley corn: "with harrows strong they combed him, the burst clods upon his head/ a joyful banquet then was made, when barleycorn was dead." the others are confused. one explains: the spirit of the harvest. john barleycorn. beer- the song is about beer. Methe says: maybe.

also I made a zine using a collage of lyrics from the wyrm based ballads called “i weird ye”:

Folklore from “Laidly, Loathly”: Laidly basically means the same as loathly – the second half of the title sort of defines the first. It is an archaic Scots and Northern English word. My story is about a creature and a boy treated like a creature. thread >>> #folklore #comics

Here's the first three pages from Laidly, Loathly. I'm mainly a printmaker but have been exploring drawing and collage more due to RSI in my wrist and fingers! This was an enjoyable project. It took about two years on and off, and I had to draw some of it with my left hand. #folklore #comic #zine

(I know why. it is a lure) Faun: i didn't see that you were sidhe. you may have your arrow back".
