Enjoyable morning at Punta Entinas. 100+ Black Terns, 80+ Pratincoles, Gt Egret,Night Heron,Little Bittern, Little Stint,Curlew and Common Sandpipers and more.

Well I asked @markbirdingpinoso.bsky.social to take me to see Sandgrouse. He did! 50 plus Pintailed and 10 Black bellied. Thanks Mark.

Top quality morning at El Hondo,Alicante. Herons to the fore with Purple, Squacco, Little Bittern, Cattle E,Gt E and Little E. Also great views of Water Rail and a stunning sunrise.

Almeria highlights wk comm 26/7.....the first hints of autumn migration. A few Curlew and Wood Sandpipers plus Green and Common at various sites. Pic is a murky morning in the Andarax valley due to la calima(sand from north Africa)

A concert in the village tonight and the cultural association running the bar to raise funds. Some bloke who purports to be the president flying the LUFC colours.

The Rambla is fed entirely by water from Cabo village sewage works. Its rich in nutrients so every summer there is an algal bloom which depletes the oxygen and kills lots of fish and other creatures. The works is planned to close so eventually the Rambla will dry up except after storms.

A hint of autumn migration this morning at Rambla Morales. 2 Wood Sandpiper and several Common and Green Sands. Also White headed Duck,Marbled Teal, a big flock of Glossy Ibis plus all the usual suspects.

A steady morning at Punta Entinas but autumn migration hasn't got going yet. A flock of 20 Marbled Teal was good also Common Waxbill,the first time I've seen them here.

Do not tell me that Spain is football mad. In my village there are 3 bars. Tonight,world cup final,2 of them closed. This is a pic of the one that opened. 4 English people watching the game and 2 staff. Enough said.

Back to birding after the summer lull. Top morning at Punta Entinas, highlight being a Red necked Nightjar that we flushed from the scrub. Marvellous views. Also lots of waders, Squacco and Night Herons, Black Terns and Marbled Teal.

A night in the big city to watch the play off final between Almeria and Málaga. Almeria lost 1-2 sadly but fair play to Málaga they were the better team.

Another morning at Punta Entinas and another good one. Lots of waders,terns and herons. Highlights were Pratincole and Knot,a superb Black Tern, Squacco Heron,Night Heron and Little Bittern.

Super morning at Punta Entinas, this time along the main entrance track which I rarely take. 5 tern sp inc a breathtaking White winged,Gt Reed and Reed,Night Heron,Glossy Ibis,hundreds of Flamingos and a dozen Collared Pratincoles.

Not a mozzie in sight this morning at Punta Entinas. Waders looking resplendent in breeding plumage,Little Bittern, Squacco Heron,Gallinule, Gt Reed singing,Yellow Wagtail, 3 tern sp and more.

A marvellous morning in the Sierra de Loja,Granada. Rock and Blue Rock Thrush,W.Orphean Warbler,Gt Spotted Cuckoo, Black and Black eared Wheatear, Rock Bunting, Black Redstart, Woodchat Shrike, male Monty's,Iberian Magpie and more.

An early morning ramble along a rambla in Tabernas desert. One of many but this is my go to spot for Alpine Swifts. Great views of around 30 plus Black and Black eared Wheatear, Turtle Dove and Rock Sparrow.

A quick early morning visit to Rambla Morales. 3 singing Bush Robins,Bee Eater,Woodchat Shrike,Hoopoe, 8 wader sp,Glossy Ibis and lots of Slender billed Gulls feasting on an insect bloom.

A return to Punta Entinas with Rai and Jan now the mozzies have subsided . Caspian Tern plus 4 other tern sp,lots of Curlew Sandpiper and Little Stint, Knot,Pratincole,Grey Plover,Squacco Heron,Glossy Ibis and more.

Annual trip up the Sierra de Gador to look for Red necked Nightjar. Just two brief flight views sadly.

Last session on the patch until Autumn and a patch first and mega...Squacco Heron over! Plus Blue Rock Thrush,Golden O,Spot Fly,Bee Eater,Chough.
