Lit the only one I found positive is goblin tools that breaks large tasks into smaller ones for folk with executive dysfunction. My kid is AuDHD with memory issues and he uses it to keep ordered. Not creative. Not short cutting knowledge. No slop! So, for example, packing for a trip to Melbourne:

No matter what judgement I'm facing elsewhere, I know I can go home and be judged even more by my dog. (In this case it was because I had a biscuit and I didn't give it to her.)

Ghost Beyond Earth by G.M Hauge with this cover. Scared me to the point that I read the entirety of Logan's Run in 1 go to calm down.🤣 For decades I couldn't remember the name and any cover search turned up Koontz's Lightning. I thought I dreamed it until I bought my bookshop and lo, there it was.

Today was a very strange day. Busy yet quiet. Strange people but normal. Unfathomable. So it's time for There is No Antimemetics Division, a glass of wine, and a large dose of pondering.

This hilarious peek is somewhat less hilarious now that the age of AI $lop has arrived. This is the first edition in book form from 1971 of a novelet that appeared in F&SF in 1958.

When it's 43C (109F) and you take pity on your chickens. This is our "penalty pen" for when one starts being mean or we are introducing a new hen. One thinks it's great, the other is catatonic. The dog is confused since it looks like her old bed crate she out grew.

I'm pretty sure my supervisors would love 8k words written on a newly refurbished 1960s typewriter.... We have yet to get it to go 'ding' at the end of a line but we are close.

I dunno who Dorothy is but I like the spurrs on her boots! Book is the 1937 edition of 'They Died with their Boots On' by Thomas Ripley.

BLISS BALLS (Snack) - I added details with *

Need: 300g pitted dates (soaked for 15 min "
*in hot water*) 100g cacao powder *or cocoa* 200g shredded coconut, 2tbsp chia seeds, 100g coconut oil, Extra coconut *or cocoa* to coat.

Do: Mill cacao (if nibs), 30 sec Speed 9. Add nuts and chop *coarsely* 20 sec speed 4, Add fruit (all of the ingredients) chia, oil, coconut, cacao powder, *soaked* dates. Blend for 50 sec speed 6 using spatula to push mix down. Leave to sit for 10 min. Spoon out small amount and roll into balls. Roll in extra coconut *or cacao powder* and place in fridge for 1 hour to set.

All food should be made with love. These weren't. These were pure rage. Bliss balls that taste like vaguely sweet, cocoa, compressed gritty dirt. Sensory hell to make. Stupid attempt at increasing energy. Mana from hell. (I forgot to soak the dates... 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Inside a plastic tub is a selection of brown balls that look suspiciously like large cooked meatballs but are in fact date, LSA, cocoa bliss balls.

Wait, 6+ screen drive-ins were a thing in the USA? By the time I was old enough to go to the drive in with relatives (1990s) there were only 2 left in my city, & by the time I was old enough to go to with *not* relatives 😉 they had both closed. Neither had more than 1 screen. @sgj.bsky.social ??
