Compute Services Agreements with Third Parties
We believe our compute infrastructure and related strategy provides us with substantial flexibility in how we allocate and monetize capacity. We have the ability to use compute resources to support our proprietary Al applications (such as Grok 5, which is currently being trained at COLOSSUS II, while also providing access to select compute capacity to third-party customers. For example, in May 2026, we entered into Cloud Services Agreements with Anthropic PBC ("Anthropic"), an Al research and development public benefit corporation, with respect to access to compute capacity across COLOSSUS and COLOSSUS II. Pursuant to these agreements, the customer has agreed to pay us $1.25 billion per month through May 2029, with capacity ramping in May and June 2026 at a reduced fee. The agreements may be terminated by either party upon 90 days' notice. The customer will retain ownership and intellectual property rights in its content, Al models, and related data. This structure allows us to monetize unused compute capacity in our infrastructure, while still permitting reallocation of the capacity for our own internal initiatives if needed in the future. We have sufficient capacity to provide compute for our own Al models, including support of our training and inference demands, and to satisfy the obligations under these agreements. We expect to enter into additional similar services contracts. We believe this opportunity highlights the increasing importance of large-scale, frontier-level Al infrastructure and positions us as a differentiated provider of high-performance compute capacity to both internal and third-party Al workloads. We believe our dual monetization strategy provides multiple pathways to generate returns on invested capital.

Dobby's Grave Incident
And you're talking about landfall of interconnectors. There's a story which I just have to ask you about. So part of the backstory behind having you on the podcast, I mean, had already had you on my list and we've met before when I was working in government.
But somebody told me that Simon has possibly the best energy story that anybody has, which is about the challenges of making landfall for an interconnector. So I wonder if you could tell us about one of the unique challenges that you've had. Yeah.

Each project has its own challenges and they're all challenging, but some of them can be actually almost sort of mythical.
And on this particular case, on Greenlink, which is another interconnector from Pembroke going across to Wexford, just north of Cork, we made landfall at Freshwater West, which is a beautiful beach on the
Pembrokeshire coast. And once we'd agreed with all the authorities, with all the landowners and the people who own the beach, the local residents, how we'd make landfall.
I remember BBC Wales said, could you come down and just do a quick thing?
And so we stood on the beach and I explained that, you know, here's the sea, the cable's all underground. It goes up through this HDD, up into the dunes and then right at the top of the dune there, it then exits and then goes into the roads and off we go.
And I explained it in great graphic detail.

Actually, we weren't quite close to some real Bronze Age remains. But we avoided Dobby's grave. A lot of people were very happy about that.

I said that incel was stolen by losers, the losers I was referring to are those we know as incels today. I was acknowledging that it wasn’t “society” who gave them the name.

Title: the part nobody warns you about

I build a thing in 3 days. Feels incredible. Commits flying, skipped lunch on purpose, thought I would be done in no time.
That was two weeks ago. I'm still debugging.
What kills me isn't that it's hard. It's not hard. That's the worst part. It would almost be better if it was hard. It's just slow. You tap the same button 40 times. You wait for the build. You watch the same spinner. It changed one variable and you tap the button again. By hour three you forget what you were testing for. I ate cereal for dinner twice this week and I'm a grown man.
Every file I open, past me sits there grinning at me. Why did it write this. Why is this one function 800 lines. Why are there two variables called state and one of them goes null on Tuesdays and you didn't write that down anywhere. Why did it name a function handleStuff.
What is wrong with it. I certainly didn't approve any of this. It feels like inheriting a house from a relative who hated me.
And I know I'm doing it again right now. Somewhere in the last three days an agent made a decision that future me will stare at on a Thursday night and say "you absolute clown." Can't tell which one. Probably the one I'm proudest of.
I don't really have a point. I think I just wanted to say it out loud. Everyone romanticizes the building part.
Nobody tells you the rest. The rest is sitting in a chair on a Thursday night, debugging functions for the fourth time, while the world outside goes on without you.
Does it get better, or do you just get quieter about it.
