Christian. Thought leader of sarcasm. Probably listening to jazz.
Much of the MAGA/Trumpist propaganda hasn’t been spread in political rallies, talking heads, or campaign ads. A lot of it has been disseminated by pastors to their congregations. And they legitimize themselves and their messages by claiming divine justifications like “theologically accurate.”
Big win for the Constitution on the week of Americas 250th birthday.
Don’t worry guys, Doug Wilson thinks the actual threat is communism. Don’t mind all the Nazi dog whistles and literature running rampant. And don’t worry about the actual Nazis. They aren’t an actual threat. Don’t forget their leader was a failed painter who spoke at pubs. He’s not a real threat.
Imagine trying to tell the early church fathers and early evangelists, who often lost their lives and ended up being tortured and persecuted, that they should rethink the Great Commission to accommodate their comfort. These are the fruits of Josh neglecting seminary and becoming a pundit pastor.
Excited to read @kkdumez.bsky.social newest book coming this September. Based on how good “Jesus and John Wayne” was, I’m already very excited for this. I’m sure it won’t stir drama on the app formally known as twitter.
It’s the least surprising revelation. Anyone who has been tracking Christian Nationalism knew it was inevitable for them to get to blatant Nazi-ism. And this is not the last of it. It’s safe to assume they’ll feel emboldened by the pushback. (Screenshots from Eli McGowan on twitter)
To me, when Mary says, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word” that sounds like someone giving their acceptance with faith. Idk why they want to insist that Christianity isn’t a consent-based faith when so much of the faith consists of “saying yes.”
Great point from @wthrockmorton.bsky.social here. Christianity is nothing more than an aesthetic for them to parade their political ideology in. For many CN, cultural Christianity is good because it’s never about eternity changing belief as much as it’s about social propaganda. #christianpast
Excited to get into the forthcoming book from @wthrockmorton.bsky.social on Christian Nationalism and its attempt to creat a false American mythos.
Listening to a podcast about Ruby Ridge just to randomly hear them interview @andrew-whitehead.bsky.social.
Excited to get into this book that has been living rent free in Denny Burks head.
Had to install some new bookshelves since my others have run out of space. So everyone please send me recs and/or free books.
“Christian nationalism doesn’t exist. And if it does, it only exists in a vacuum.” Meanwhile the SECDEF tweeting about Doug Wilson’s evangelism of Christian Nationalism.
The other place is nothing but fascist sympathizers and it’s disturbing.
There is something so deeply wrong within the mind of Andrew Isker (excerpts from his book “Boniface Option) for him to constantly talk about women as either being submissive and obedient housewives or being “meat-puppet sex toys” for men. The language he uses is steeped in misogyny.
1 day after tweeting this, I got locked out my twitter and slapped with a label for “platform manipulation.” Strange times.
Remember kids, stay in Sunday School. It always amazes me how poorly the Christian Nationalist types are at basic biblical principles.
Christians, we cannot support this type of mockery and humiliation. Wanting legal boarder protection is one argument, but this type of gleeful insult to humanity is Christ-less.
Wolfe, in his book, argued that God would’ve built a political nation of hierarchy where an upper class ruled over a slave class in the prelapsarian garden of Eden. He also justifies violence to advance kinist theology and subverts historic ecclesiastical polity for CN polity.
American evangelicalism is so steeped in misogyny that when people speak out about obvious bullying and power abuse, the pastors accuse every one of being too “womanly.” It’s no wonder why the SBC mismanages abuse. The culture refuses to see bullying as bad if it comes from men they view as “tough.”
This is the fourth time I’ve seen a sieg heil coming from the Republican Party. It’s not cute. This needs to be stopped. Making a Nazi salute, even if it’s meant to be tongue-in-cheek is not good. Desensitizing a nation to any Nazism and fascism is inevitably going to end badly. This is not American
Nazis lost 80 years ago and they’ll lose again, and again, and again. Anyone who gets behind this is both severely illiterate in history, incapable of reason, insufferable, not a Christian, not a patriot, not a serious thinker. Never. Ever. Again. This is a disgrace and we should all be disgusted.
This type of biblical illiteracy will never not surprise me.
Painting Donald Trump while singing worship music is some wild type of idolatry. The way evangelicals have made Trump out to a prophet-like figure is truly a cause for concern. The desire to win the “culture wars” has led to just straight up idol worship.
Someone finally likes me as much as I like myself. Please clap.
Praying imprecatory psalms while doing my “Live, Laugh, Loath” stitch kit for advent 🙏🏼
