Woo woo, spent today getting a testing branch setup on steam for Chirp Chirp, and now I just played through the prototype on my Steam Deck, how cool is that!? First time going through this process - big thanks and shoutout to @fritters.dev / @goblintek.dev for helping out! #indiedev #godot
"Hello little bird!" I liked the idea "upgrading" your ability to chirp as a bird, but didn't have time to expand on it in the game jam version. Maybe in the full version there will be multiple upgrades that allow you to communicate with different friends / env? 🐤🎶 robotsgoboom.itch.io/chirp-chirp
If you get a chance to play, let me know what your completion time is - I have a timer setup and folks have been posting some solid times (if you can beat around 10-15 mins, you're the new champ!).
Happy bday! I tried to buy a couple shirts but your website is asking to sign in? I couldn't find a place to make an account so not sure if this is an error or not.
The raincoat may be a lil bit too long for this sausage roll of a puppers, but she loving life 🤗🤣
I just think she's neat! 🤓 Some pics of Izzy to add some goofiness to your doom scrolling adventures!
Wtf are we even doing here? Just saw this stupid ass video pop up for nvidia's new DLSS 5 tech... and were all suppose to be cool with this? I saw Digital Foundry pop up a video as well and of course they're down with it... "its the same texture asset... just going through different lighting" HUH!?
It's a very dumb thing on my end... but I managed to fix some icky ui stretching issues on my current playtest build. It has been bugging me for awhile but figured it was a bigger task to solve down the road... nope! Instead of viewport, I switched it to canvas items instead, whoops!
Also started working on getting some narrative events and workflows up and running - very modular which makes life a bit easier moving forward!
Also added a fun "slow-mo" effect on match end, adds a bit of "omph" during the death blow.
Also added some more UI feedback during each round of battle to help give a bit more context on outcomes per turn, as well as having the characters now "move to" position to improve readability. Still A LOT to work on here!
Wrapping up the 2nd month of solo dev on "Project Duelz" with the focus on getting another Playtest Build out for more folks to try. Now folks can fight their way through a basic encounter map + earn player upgrades before fighting the "boss". #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #godot
After actions are set, you can watch as the battle plays out - and player and opponent may trigger a clash (for movement and attacks) flipping a coin to see who comes out on top. There are different ways to win the duel - by striking down your opponent, winning on points, or covering more ground.
Each round will have the player roll and setup what their next 3 actions will be. The opponent’s actions are displayed at the start, so the player can work towards trying to counter each move, while also fighting against rng. Merge die to create more powerful versions of actions.
👋Hey all! It's the first month since going solo dev with Robots Go Boom! and I wanted to share what I've been working on so far! ⚔️ This is "Project Duelz" - A compact rock-paper-scissors style dice-tactics game where you duel increasingly challenging opponents to see who reigns supreme! #gamedev
Izzy just wanted to check in with folks to say hi, she thinks you're awesome... and to remember to try and find time to decompress and recharge when you can... She's rootin' for ya!
And here are some prototypes I've built throughout the years! 🎮 👊 Shardbound Prototype - jasonlavoie.itch.io/shardbound-p... 🌉 A Bridge Home Prototype - jasonlavoie.itch.io/a-bridge-home 🌿 Wildlands Playthrough - vimeo.com/379412555?fl...
