Waiting for the return of Dinosaurs. Dino Crisis Community Rep. Capcom Fan, Action RE Ambassador, Fan Art Connoisseur & Jokester. Physical Publishing @ Game Industry. Art by @speedoru.bsky.social & @ericsonblum.bsky.social
GameStop had a Buy 4 for $10 on $5 games. Grabbed heavy rain as I thought this was the version with the DLC on the disc. Apparently this is just the original Korean release. I’m too lazy to do anything about it.
The Dino Crisis franchise is now at 5 Million Units sold. A very impressive feat when you considering this is primarily thanks to the re-release of the PC ports. If this doesn’t show Capcom there’s interest in a new game I don’t know what will.
He’s ridiculous lol. I’m gonna hop on Saturn and play a few rounds in his honor.
Playing halo with @sarahofmars.bsky.social and her terrible driving skills put us in a soft lock of death for a bit lol.
Pulled out my PSP Go and was reminded how this “Digital Only” device was basically left for dead if not for the homebrew community. Hope that isn’t an allusion to what we might be in store for….
Added some “PlayStation Hits” versions to the collection for the God of War titles I was missing. I know some people loathe these but I really don’t mind the extra dose of color. Especially since these have red cases to boot.
For the 2 Skip & Loafer fans that follow me, Ross is selling the Mitsumi Iwakura & Sousuke Shima Pop-up Parade Bundle for $14.99 The two figures hold hands as well
Original Box Art Style - I imagine the copies I got were likely Xbox ordered reprints that they just slapped into being “pre-owned”. As they’ve done that numerous times with older games.
Went to GameStop to fill some gaps in my Physical collection during their “Buy 4 for $40” on pre-owned titles. To my surprise they had copies of the Resident Evil Xbox Reprints. So if you’re looking for those, might be worth checking (Original Box in Comments)
@gameyevg.bsky.social Trying to update my collection but it’s currently not letting me delete anything. Version: 5.08.00:1.0.00 iOS
Had a random itch to play Dead to Rights (never played it before). Thus far it’s rad as hell and even includes someone doing a Christopher Walken impersonation lol.
Buddy got me some N64 Stands for my collection. Quite like the look of them. Definitely lets them stand out better than I had them before. Even if I had just bought end labels for everything lol.
Damn, I missed Gym Bro Skeletor him and I refuse to pay Scalper Prices. RIP Me
Never understood why people delete their questions on Reddit. Especially when the comments are helpful. Like do people just get embarrassed that they asked a question in the first place?
Found a old receipt in my collection and God Damn, 2010 really was peak time for retro games still being cheap. That was $2 for a CIB copy of The Getaway & $20 for a Dreamcast w/ Controller, Cords, & VMU
I like how this original manual for Resident Evil Gaiden is worth more than various games in my collection lol. I don’t even own the game 🫣
Physical Playstation imports was one of the easiest ways to play games not available in your region. That’s going to be gone now without absurd hoop jumping with this all digital push.
At a listening party for Heated Rivalry. I like that the record shop put up info on how important physical is, especially for music.
Watched the 1st Ep. of Chainsmoker Cat. Can’t wait to see more as despite its usage of crude/gross humor, you can tell it’s a means to an end for depicting addiction & depression in an unfiltered lens. Being uncomfortable is the point and I hope it continues to pull no punches
Another aspect I didn’t even consider with PlayStation’s plans to ditch physical. Just an outright betrayal to passionate devs that have likely always wanted to see their game released physically. It’s a milestone to hold something you’ve worked on so passionately in physical form.
The more I stew on PS announcing theyre ditching physical games, the more disgusting it gets. It’s one thing to reduce consumer options. It’s another to eradicate part of gaming culture you made. All those gens of people collecting, sharing, & supporting local stores just gone.
