yup! Most of the things I learned about 1970s and '80s politics and culture came from old Doonesbury and Bloom County collections. Did I understand them all at the time? Nope! But the penny dropped later. For instance: the Donald Trump arc in this Doonsbury collection!
But it's not just that. The Ellisons' acquisition of Warner Brothers Discovery is heavily leveraged on investments from Gulf sovereign wealth funds - they're asking for a waiver of the 25% max to go to 49.5% foreign money *or as much as 100%* (3/n)
This is a very weird thing to post because it never happened! Bernie Sanders wasn't in the Senate until 2007, and the AUMF passed 296-133 (including Sanders) in the House, and 77-23 in the Senate. He was part of a minority who voted against it yes but there were over 150 of them!
This little man literally walked in my back door last fall from the Outside; he now will only eat lamb and salmon (no chicken please and thank you) and yells at me to stay on schedule for his designated naps and cuddles.
I had a nice long walk in Brooklyn Bridge Park today. Cold, sunny, many excellent ducks and cool ice in the East River!
Bobbito has a nightly 11 o'clock biting session but, what is to be done?
Rescued and on its way to rehab courtesy @jerthorp.bsky.social! Thanks to the Brooklyn Bridge Park staff for the quick response.
I mean there is a reason that we are still out here reading those books! I keep coming back to Lincoln's Second Inaugural. We are still there.
