Some I/O cards for my 386/486 platforms😌 Looks like I can put XIDE on the VLB one? Not sure what I can do with that yet though🤡
I did not expect to find a photo of my first PC but here it is!🤡 [Legend (Lenovo) Scorpio-828] Pentium MMX 166 16MB RAM S3Trio64V+ Crystal4236 sound card Acer 8x CDROM Some MPEG card with remote support Motorola WisdomPen Classical speakers you can't see. It was a good time...😌
The sky is orange and my throat is cloudy. Definitely staying inside for the day🫠
PCB order is in. Now lemme find all the hidden mistakes I made that DRC failed to🤡
The missing HC04 and an SMD battery holder is finally in. Replaced and the board is in the best possible state. Now it can rest😌
And No.2 secretly (not really) beat Minish Cap while the older bro is navigating FF6!🥳
Achieved everything I wanted to do with this setup. Now it’s time to whip up a PCB to fit everything inside nicely and give it a USB-C plug. USB-C baby!🤪
Wife brought this in for the afternoon snack and I suddenly felt I was working on a Game Gear!🐟🐠🎣🤡🤪
Final boot test of the 2nd Am386DX-40. And it wouldn’t boot. Pushed the pins around again and A13 fell off🤡 Touched that one up and now it boots!🥳
Bother by a missing pad and some missing/crushed caps, and ended up doing a full recap on the top board🫠 Of course there was zero improvement as the board was working totally fine even before this🤡
Modded the board to output line level stereo and read the extended buttons from JAMMA edge. Tried to disconnect 12V but the board hates that and refused to boot. Now I’m just waiting for that missing HC04 to finish it up😌
Of course, I’ve already swapped out the dead battery. Also tested out the onboard VGA port, and it works great (at blinding VGA levels🤡)
I didn’t hear any sound in attraction mode, so I went into service mode and played around a bit. Confirmed that audio is working, and adjusted garbled brightness values. Now I hear audio!👀
I built a few of these minigun boards a few years ago I found online. They are safe for consumer devices and I really like them.
Found an HC04 missing on the bottom board. Looks like manufacture flaw. The pad were most wetted but two had marks. Did the chip just fall off? Since I don’t have this chip, I just bodged the pads together. Not NOTting shouldn’t be a big issue, right?🤪 And the board boots!👀
Took the chip off and put it back on. But the board still doesn’t boot up. It seems it keeps rebooting itself🤔
