Capital One is letting the next head of the CFPB keep a bonus to which he is not entitled. Why do something sketchy but legal--is this benevolence? Nah! We have stupid laws with loopholes even larger than Trump. As I told Capitol Account... www.capitolaccountdc.com/p/cfpb-nomin...
Canada and the realities of "Abundance" and why the neoliberals became "gas guys" over the past half dozen years. All underpinned by "effective altruism," which is a great marketing slogan for an approach that in reality exists to create companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
SHOT/CHASER Ballmer's money, it would seem, moves in mysterious ways....
1. Trump cheated. 2. The Associated Press used the word "unprecedented" TWICE in this May article about other decisions that permitted players to return to action lawlessly. 3. Trump is wrong/corrupt, FIFA is wrong/corrupt, Balogun is great. Ugh! www.espn.com/soccer/story...
I do not think the political class has truly wraped its mind around crypto. Check out Bitcoin during the past years, a period of high general and equity specific asset inflation. I want it to get to zero, but the loss in real value is meaningful nonetheless.
This article is terrific journalism... and TERRIFYING. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
As I told @notus.com, turning from a revolving door of interchangeably laughable acting officials to a professional partisan political operative at the Office of Government Ethics is taking a bad situation... and making it worse. www.notus.org/agencies/tru...
Trump's international real estate licensing cash is super-sketchy, as I told @marketwatch.com. www.marketwatch.com/story/trumps...
As I told @notus.com, corporations funding the "Great American State Fair" are investing in their relationship with Trump. The results might be risible, but the CEOs could well laugh their way to the bank.* * If banks were one profited from stock options.
Madison also thought the National Bank was unconstitutional--and yet John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh distinguish the Federal Reserve from the FTC et al on the bullshit basis that it has always been understood that national banks were constitutional.

A politics based on concessions will end up giving a lot of concessions speeches.
BigLaw is pretty inevitably about representing awful oligarchs, and there but for the grace of god goes its practitioners in terms of their clients misdeeds becoming as well known as Epstein's. (e.g., chemical spills, opioid crisis, etc...) www.nytimes.com/2026/06/11/o...
Is Gillibrand rebuilding bridges to Silicon Valley the right way? I have abundant curiosity about who might think that Democrats and Silicon Valley should renew their vows! fortune.com/2026/06/18/t...
Trend is belated but good; more like this, please! coinmarketcap.com/charts/
There is an exceptional irony in the fact that: 1) The AIPAC/neocon movement in the United States intervenes politically in tandem with crypto. 2) In the real world, crypto is PIVOTAL to countries like Iran (and North Korea... but also Russia....)
So Third Way thinks the autopsy was good, actually. Their standards are revealing!
There were some nods toward that on increasingly convergent on Abundance Pod Save America! I think Favreau and Vietor.
The line between "Abundance Bro" & "Crypto Bro" has always been exceedingly thin, as Yglesias favorite Ruben Gallego has long demonstrated. www.politico.com/live-updates...
Recall: Then-Senator Obama felt bad voting against John Roberts--that it was a close call. His attribution of positive traits to Roberts was clearly wrong then and looks even worse in retrospect. So many of the Obama faults as president rest in similar misjudgment. www.wsj.com/articles/SB1...
As I expressed to Stat... there is horrifying run of the mill/mundane DC corruption, and then there's... empowering Big Tobacco at our preeminent public health organization! www.statnews.com/2026/04/22/n...
