Born at 319.65 ppm, so angry it's already going past 419.44 ppm today Nov 13, 2024. Also on IG: Would rather be reading. An actual book. Always from an independent bookstore or my library.
How do you know a candidate fears unscripted interactions with the public? They don't advertise their events. #statusquo #haleystevens
From www.nytimes.com/2026/07/16/u... @rephaleystevens.bsky.social, eager to stand with genocide, "the day that Mr. Biden ended his re-election campaign in July 2024, she hosted an event for him in the morning and then, after he dropped out, stumped for Vice President Kamala Harris in the evening."
Forte is no "mom and pop". It's a multinational company w/offices all over the world yet you paint them as a Michigan company. Given MI voters hatred of AI and datacenters...why are associating with a company that wants AI in schools so our kids don't learn to think and write on their own?
Describe your favorite movie as boring as possible: Introvert proves humans not alone in universe, regrets it.
We had to cut our camping short due to air quality at Orchard Beach State Park along Lake Michigan just north of Manistee. just imagining the air quality for those experiencing the wildfires directly. 2 years in a row at this park. Nowhere is unaffected by Climate Change.
While I appreciate lifting the paywall, there's more passive voice b.s., this time in photo caption "Daniel Boucher lives in Biddeford in an apartment at the intersection of Pool and Hill streets, where a shooting happened on Monday". How about "...when ICE agents shot a man".
Amy Westervelt's new book "Brought To You By" coming out in September.
So Emily's list is pro-women except for Palestinian women who can be bombed, raped, denied health care, education, clean water...got it. Stevens even voted to honor Charlie Kirk. #VoteAbdul for Senate. (And he polls better against Rogers:) wdet.org/2026/06/30/p...
Look what I found in our yard today! When #mossdinspace arrived my family put it out for me to discover in its more natural habitat. I had to start reading it right then and there in 100f heat under our grasses. Congrats Rebecca Thorne!!!
A lovely Solstice together with my love today....mostly joy, some not (waves at the world). All is tempered tonight by the delight of receiving a quite silly trophy for dancing at today's @pinkmartiniband.bsky.social concert with our Detroit Symphony Orchestra. As we end our day...quiet rain falls.
Among so many other aspects, what a breath of public fresh air to be in attendance of our library’s celebration of Arab American culture and hear Palestine unapologetically, rightfully, being referred to as a country. #LibrariesAreForEveryone
On not living outside of nature but accepting the truth that we are all one.....
A few Carl Sagan quotes on Earth Day, especially given the state of our politics...
A serious upgrade in the making for U of M Regent. Out with Ackerman’s genocide support l. #VoteAmirMakled
Here at the Michigan Democratic Convention and great to see so many anti-Acker signs. #NoVotesForGenocideEnablers
No surprise that these companies value sucking up to Trump enough to have their names up on freedom250.org Utterly disgusting.
Thank you to Wellesley Books for getting this signed copy of Dr. Prescod-Weinstein's latest! Read science by non-white authors! #ReadNonFiction #EdgeOfSpaceTime
From the newsletter....it's all connected and the systems of power behind the fossil power systems are still playing a single note, over and over.
This site needs a break. Post 3 good things, none of which are the cessation of a negative. 1) The smell of fresh bread baking. 2) Talking with friends after a library event. 3) Fun arrangements of Spring vegetables.
And *now* I'm ready to head to #WinterInstitute2026. Thank you @ridgecrestbooks.bsky.social (and thank you Heather Fawcett for a cozy cat shelter story at the end of each day!) #Pittsburgh #PittsburghWithSnow
Senate Dems will cave with b.s. "body camera" and "ICE promises to be nice" later this month. When the funding bill the Senate passed went to the House today, House Dems could have withheld their votes to force something stronger. Nope, 21 broke ranks to save ICE. clerk.house.gov/Votes/202653
2 very different books this week. From City Lights Publishing, Little Red Barn by Will Potter was a tough read about factory farms and fascism. Ne'er Duke Well by Alexandra Vasti was a quick romance read to cleanse my palate, made more interesting with the woman-pwned lending library subplot.
