BC’s ⚡️🔌 consumption has a very strong seasonal cycle with winter demand almost twice that of summer. There is a noticeable increase in July and August presumably for cooling. Electrification of gas heating will require continued building of renewables that produce in the dead of winter. #bcpoli

California has built out a huge amount of solar and is now paring it with battery storage to make for a pretty slick paring. During the day, the majority of electricity is from solar at over 60%!
The long-term closures of the Galloping Goose Regional trail for repairs and enhancements is reducing cycling numbers, even with the detour. A natural experiment occurred this past winter with the trail being closed between mid November and mid March. #yyj #VictoriaBC

I believe it will be a rapid rectangular flashing beacon set up. A massive improvement and opens up kings as a parallel cycling route to Hillside. Similar situation at Vista Heights as well.
Excited to see @victoria.ca continue to invest in active transportation along Cook St. The two new crosswalks at Kings and Vista will be so great and will give cyclists and pedestrians great alternatives to Hillside Avenue! #yyj
