Happy days role playing, at the @badmooncafe.bsky.social last weekend with our regular game of #AlienRPG.
Ducking out of the #ARLIS UK & Ireland Conference, for a lunchtime visit to Leeds Art Gallery.
Some snaps from my first go at Five Parsecs to Home down at #CLWC. It was slightly reminiscent of the final scene in that wonderful film ‘Don’t Look Up.’ Oh that’s a brontaroc!
I’ll be having a go at playing “Five Parsecs to Home” later, So I painted up this figure yesterday for the game.
Reacquainted myself with #WhataCowboy today in a quick game with the beautifully stylised #BlackScorpionMiniatures ahead of introducing it to some friends next week. Some fine shooting from the law gunned down both the bandits in 2 turns! #spreadthelard
The final game of the #SharpPractice weekend, was a scenario where the Huron & their French allies, intercepted a baggage train to carry it off, after a strong start the British column responded aggressively cutting off the route back to their Jump-off point winning a close run game. #spreadthelard
‘Heavy Machinery’ was a race to the objective scenario. The British were attempting to secure tools before the Huron can spirit them away. The Huron got lucky & drove the British Grenadiers back with excellent musketry after killing their big man in a duel they carried off the tools. #spreadthelard
The Second Game of the #SharpPractice weekend saw a clash between Continentals & a Huron War Party, attempting to persuade a neutral tribe to join their side, sensibly the elders chose to remain neutral, before long the Huron buckled under superior fire power and were driven off. #spreadthelard.
The 1st game of #SharpPractice, French & Huron forces raided a farmstead, after holding the centre, vicious fights erupted on both flanks between Native American allies, Although the French prevailed, just in the battle they failed to achieve any objectives, therefore drew the game. #spreadthelard.
What a fantastic weekend of #SharpPractice at Bristol Independent Gaming, 4 scenarios from the French & Indian War over two days saw Malice Canadiene along with their Huron Allies take on an array of British and Continental forces. A fantastic weekend of #wargaming. #spreadthelard.
A quick weekend project creating tunnel entrances and a weapons cashe for #Nam’68.
My first batch of 28mm figures for my #Nam’68 project. Vietnamese civilians from #EmpressMinatures. Really enjoyable to paint up.
Well the 3rd game of #Nam’68 in 3 weeks, clearly there’s something to the linked campaign in the rules which keeps us coming back. This time my squad arrived late moved up to flank a village, but failed to see much of the enemy, only for one the unit to be shot and killed. Feels pretty historic.
Out in the bush avoiding US search and destroy operations as the Vietcong in our second game of #Nam68. Beginning to get grips with the rules now, but not quite sure how to resolve close combat.
Despite being an amazing show and having a great time on Saturday, only took three photos at #Salute53, so here they are:
Yesterday had a go at #Nam68, a Vietnam skirmish game. Really enjoyed this first go seems to deal with the asymmetrical nature of the conflict very well. Looking forward to more games in the future.
Some images of individual Platoons that can be used as part of the Main Column in #BattlegroupNORTHAG
Having enough Chieftains for 3 troops plus a commander, although I have to make up some extra infantry stands and get a few more FV432s, Spartans or Sultans to give a bit of flexibility in the force make up.
Some shots of the #BAOR Forward Screen Units in 6mm for #BattlegroupNORTHAG. They are Heroics & Ros figures and very nice too.
The German deployment in ‘Getting the Hump’, location three, in the Unser Ziel ist Bayeux #ChainofCommand campaign, where sneaked a patrol marker over the railway tracks, allowing them to approach the objective from two directions, in the built up to an exciting encounter.
The 3rd Game of the ‘Unser Ziel ist Bayeux’ #ChainofCommand campaign saw Panzer Lehr push towards DLI positions defending a choke point culvert. Following a stiff defence, the Panzer Lehr drove the DLI defenders back but not before receiving a number of casualties & wounded leaders, #spreadthelard.
Having fun today trying to replicate @joewargamer.bsky.social lovely but, complex map for ‘Getting the Hump’, location three, in the Unser Ziel ist Bayeux #ChainofCommand campaign. Pleased with the results, #spreadthelard.
The second engagement at Moulin de Flaye in the Unser Ziel ist Bayeux campaign of #ChainofCommand, besause of casualties two DLI sections were under strength, adding to their woes Panzer Lehr started with a double phase racing to their objective & were hardly troubled by parting shots #spreadthelard
In the First World War gallery there is an interesting collection of captured German equipment, including two ‘artillery’ Lugers. A brilliant collection.
