I've been a little less focused on making videos lately and I've been sewing instead. I made these robes for my partner + kids to wear to a camping/festival thing they're going to in a few weeks. The blue adult one is in muslin and the kids' are cotton voile. The muslin was WAY more forgiving!
Cyberdeck? Writerdeck? A bunch of scrap stuck to a clipboard with a keyboard and boox tablet? Yes
Hoping to learn to visualize crochet work I decided to make a 3d model in blender. I'm not sure it helped...
Trying to get back to my #gameboy graphics videos and decided the best idea is to significantly change my rendering workflow
I can crochet now! Not well but that should come with experience I hope I've tried to learn a few times before but never got it. For some reason this time it clicked!
I also cleaned up the #davincifusion and #blender node graphs so that I'll hopefully understand them if I ever come back to them
I refined the animation a bit so that it's a little more interesting / dynamic
Proof of concept of another #vfx idea I had in my head. It's made with #davinciresolve and #blender. The pixels' movement is controlled by a video texture with the velocities baked into the rgb channels (z dir is acceleration e.g. gravity)
These are some out of context screen grabs from my latest video: youtu.be/GtGfZ5f3s20 The context doesn't actually help for all of them though. The video's about disassemblers and why they're hard and impossible!
Does anyone put more effort into silly video gags than I do? yeah probably But I still put in a lot!
I was playing around with repeating pattern drawing and came up with these two
I accomplished a thing! Took longer than expected because of surprise brick. Also would have been easier if my walls were flat. Turned out pretty good though Now to clean up...
Here's a break down of the steps to produce the result. On the left are two raw noise patterns Those get thresholded to b/w, they're the bitplanes They get decoded into pixels for each colour Then the colours are applied Finally the 4 sets of pixels are combined into the 8x8 tile
Am I making a 2-bit-per-pixel palette-based rendering for a randomized 8x8 tile in davinci resolve fusion? ... yes #davinciresolve
Making good priorities again! and more #blender playing The game boy is actually a 3d model that I made and textured. Couldn't have just used a flat image, nope. The moving grids are animated tiled textures. The "road" uses an image sequence, the "floor" animates by moning the UV coords.
Added more detail to this #blender scene. I think the improvement-to-effort ratio is getting a lot lower now though... There are a few details I want to add, and probably make more movie covers. I'm not sure if it's getting close to "good enough" though 😬
Trying to get some randomization going. I have the number of copies in each stack randomized and each copy in a stack has a random side to side shift so they look more natural. I also want more movie covers but that requires making a bunch more of them
more blender work on the shelves. Look at all those copies of the exciting new thriller! maybe I should finish the script for the video this is for...
