A very happy Scotsman here. Corned beef with mustard and white sauce is one of my favourite meals. Growing up we didn’t have much, but we had boiled cabbage and it was a fight to see who got to drink the water it was boiled in. I still love it, it’s still a treat.
One of us isn’t Scottish… can you guess which one? Haha. It really was a beautiful day here in the Southern Highlands.
Although it’s been freezing, the days have been sunny. I guess with that comes spectacular bunches of flowers. I wonder who arranged them? Hope this brightens up someone’s day.
We have a big family, and Sundays are when we can all get together. Sometimes special friends are in town, and we’re lucky to enjoy their company. Hold the ones you love close to you. Tex and Kristyna, we love you guys.
Always a treat to get a visit from this wee man. Teddy in the house. Time for crumbs in the bed.
All of a sudden, the daffodils are flowering. It’s going to be -1°C tomorrow morning… I hope the ones that have already opened survive.
Getting motivated to jump in the pool on a cold and frosty morning is a hell of a lot harder than on a Thai beach holidays… but totally worth it.
I was lucky enough to be at my granddaughter - Ruby Rodgers’ EP showcase tonight in Sydney. The room was packed, and she absolutely crushed it. I can’t wait for you all to hear the EP. It’s fantastic… I’m so proud. Single, ‘Sixteen’, out now. Pre-save / pre-order the EP: linktr.ee/rubyrodgersm...
I love seeing the mist rise over the river. I’m usually still sleeping at this time of day but got up early with Dylan for France vs England. Dylan gets to dunk pastries in hot chocolate, I get a healthy Scottish bowl. Steel cut oats with chia seed porridge, berries, bananas & Greek yoghurt.
My granddaughter Ruby has just released the title track from her upcoming EP, Sixteen, and I couldn't be prouder of her. Give the new single ‘Sixteen’ a listen + pre-save the EP now, on all streaming platforms here: rubyrodgers.lnk.to/sixteen

There’s a serious chess match going on. We only have a few days left before our holidays come to an end. In the meantime we’re making the most of our time with the grandkids, the delicious Thai food, pool time and beach walks. Happy peaceful Sunday everyone.
Chilled refreshing green coconuts to cool off after golf lessons. Waiting patiently for mango sticky rice. Pool games. I love that the kids are off their phones and devices. That’s a real holiday.
Cold Chisel’s “Circus Animals” caravan alive and well. Happily residing in a backstreet Narrabri.
Tennis lessons today and Bella and Dylan look like a couple of emojis after their session. We look like mean grandparents chilling and keeping cool by the pool.
Day 2 with the kids… daily morning beach walk. Fishing boats just in and monks on their alms round. A taste of market breakfast and time for Muay Thai. So far holidays are going well. These two are so well behaved
Beach holiday Day 1 with Bella and Dylan. Pool time then roast duck noodle soup.
Here’s a new clip from two of my favorite people. My brother Swanee, and my other brother Ian Moss. I love seeing them sing together. Watch the full video here: youtu.be/tsZQzPVCL60
We’ve said ‘Sayonara’ to the Land of the Rising Sun, and have landed smack bang into Bangkok traffic. Dylan and Bella are on their way to spend holidays with us. It’s the first time away together without their parents. Wish us luck.
Teddy’s dad, Jimmy, and I went to a knife making lesson in Kyoto today. It was incredibly hot and equally difficult but we both managed to get one made. It gives me a whole new appreciation of a good knife, and all blacksmiths in general. It nearly killed us
We visited the bamboo forest and the Shogan’s Castle today. We stopped at some temples and made wishes along the way. Teddy has a great time at everything we do. What a guy.
Teddy has been learning about Sumo, Samurai training. Maiko means young entertainer. When in Japan …
We took the bullet train to Kyoto today. We are all loving Japan. Have a great weekend everyone.
At night the squid boats light up the horizon. The moon was still up when I got up to watch the World Cup. Scotland and Socceroos had their first wins. Well done both teams.
Physio massage time. I’m so relaxed it’s ridiculous. Pretty thankful for that
I’ve had four months out of the pool due to rotator cuff injury. I think it’s right up there with hip surgery recovery. I still can’t swim laps but some pool work feels great, a lot of stretching is helping. Lucky I have a fun coach.
Here’s a great crowd video of Khe Sanh from Bali. Fireworks at the end were pretty special… we had a ball.
What a way to wrap up an incredible week at Stranded in Bali. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a week of live music, good times, and great memories. A big thanks to the bands, event organisers, and local hosts who made it all happen. We had a great time.
