Damn. I’ve developed a moderate case of Trump Hand. I know the blood thinners I take cause bruises from the slightest tap, but I hate this one. Just to be safe, if I start to rant about communism or election fraud, please just push me under a fast-moving bus.
Comfort July 4 dinner. I smoked a chuck roast for pulled beef. Lisa made her sauce, amping it up with Indian red chile powder. Grilled corn. The salad is from a grocery store bagged kit, because comfort.
We just installed a weather station in our back pasture. I am having an incredibly good time watch g the data flow.
"Hello, cat police? I'd like to report a conspiracy to steal slippers."
Meanwhile, Sherman from the Mr. Peabody show is on the mound at the Men’s College World Series.
I have long been haunted by the photo that @willbunch.bsky.social used here. In 2020, I visited Selma with a group. I wanted to find the Haisten's building. It turns out that our tour guide at the National Voting Rights Museum and Institute II confirmed my suspicion that this was the very building.
Do you ever get a crazy food idea and then try it out, even though it's entirely off the wall? I present to you chorizo, onion and cilantro quiche! Amazingly, it turned out well. I thought it had the potential to be a disaster. 🍜
We have the dark grey Eames chair. It’s older than this 1960 one. My wife was rocked in it as a baby. #AntiquesRoadshow
Post a picture you took (no description except Alt) to bring some Zen into the timeline
Are we getting closer? My sources tell me the folks who've been putting up the large statues on the National Mall have sent this photo to a headstone company, with a note saying "Carve us one of these babies out of granite".
We have been so lucky that this bird nest has been just outside our window the last three years. It’s in a rose bush, providing natural defense. The first year, it was a family of cardinals. Last year, mockingbirds moved in. Back to cardinals now and mama has been patiently on the nest several days.
I’m such a dimwit. I scratched my head all day yesterday about those long panels on sticks are that they’re replacing. It finally dawned on me just now: it’s a cellular relay station. At least, asking the Google for pictures of such a thing seem to match up.
Watching this project from above with so much interest that I feel like one of those guys in the Geico commercial who is in danger of becoming his parents.
Our pair of red shoulders were interested in something other than crows this morning.
I’d like to go put my dinner together, but it appears I have a pressing engagement as a cat bed.
<Soft David Attenborough voice: Direct from Florida, we bring you the first ever footage of the rare Cockaded Groundpecker.>
Like me, Weatherbug took one look at yet another below-freezing morning and noped right out of here.
Horses are still in their blankets. Found the dogs snuggled in one crate (there’s a space heater between the two crates) when I got up and it was 28 degrees. Lisa and I will survive.
