Just got sent this on a WhatsApp group that is probably going round. This is so dumb. The whole point of this meme is that when a club doesn’t win trophies, they claim pointless things as trophies. It doesn’t work when you are using a pic of an actual trophy parade
It’s not a particularly memorable occasion for ordinary folk, a prince and his family going to a Pizza Express
Britain is not ungovernable. The problem is that successive governments have geared all policies towards a tiny minority of people who can never be satisfied. They got Brexit, they’re not happy. And they’ll never be happy with immigration until they never see a non white face or foreign accent
I am furious about this. How f’ing dare he. We are seeing literal pogroms on the streets of the UK. A white supremacist went on a hunt for Muslims this weekend. People outside hotels chanting against immigrants - with him “understanding their concerns”. The far right is stronger than ever…
Football365 was the launch pad for @danielstorey85.bsky.social and @nickmiller79.bsky.social. I used to read it religiously. Now it is “bottling penalties” and the kind of clickbait shit it used to criticise
Yep, the single cover is also… interesting. I like the think that the song has taken on a different meaning now (and even if people think it’s cringey, it really is beautiful in the stadium. But his view of Islington is very different to my 46yo self’s view of it
This is great. And this point is fantastic. As a non white Kentish Town born and bred, I think it is a beautiful anthem that brings people together. But also, the actual video, lyrics, sleeve cover is such an antithesis to the multicultural working class that actually makes up Islington
Can someone at the BBC please write a piece on how Pace fans should quietly applaud their team and move on? They haven’t won the trophy yet!
Brilliant, well done BBC News. With your funding that outstrips any other news outlet, your intrepid investigative journalism is laser focused on some tin pot law firms that will help fuel hatred against a powerless group. Really speaking truth to power this
This might not be popular, but I absolutely agree with Farage here. I don’t want women beside him when he’s on the front line. I want real Chaps, just like Farage there. In fact, I want all true patriots on the front line, Farage and all his mates. And I want it now. Can we make it happen?
For any budding journalists out there, this story shows the power of sources. Well done to BBC Sport for having such impressive sources
A quote from the Athletic by an academy coach that, ironically, has aged very badly
No, applause for @cartoonstevebould.bsky.social please - it’s a proper anagram!
