Splurged. Spent a fair amount of money on a chocolate bar. So good. I have never had chocolate that continued to develop in flavor so much. I will be splurging on this more often.

A bunch of "filling out" of adventure ideas and lore details for Epyllion. I'm using one of these two sessions from now with the fam!

Essentially "Wings of Fire: The ttrpg." And it's fantastic. I LOVE the magic system. Everyone starts out being able to do a little of everything, but as you level up, you specialize. You lose one sphere of magic but get stronger in everything else. I'll be running this one with my kids this summer!

Every wanted a ttrpg that lets you play the Core or Armageddon? Action movies that end with big sacrifices? This system is so much fun. It runs on an act structure, and I LOVE the character creation process. I can't wait to run this at some point.

Residents of a small town vanish, only to be discovered dead inside pellet-like deposits. The paranoia keeps amping up, and I loved every bit of this... until the last chapter when it veered into a totally different genre. I'd still read more from this author, though!

Taylor was forced to pretend to be a boy to hide from the Vane, the alien race that destroyed her homeworld. She's finally out, and now the Vane are invading earth. Can she face the monsters? Look, Galaxy is the trans superhero we need, and her second graphic novel is as good as the first. READ IT.

A series of short stories tells what happens when someone beyond our solar system sends directions on how to make an interstellar spacecraft. Do we trust them? Why would anything send such a message? I enjoyed the scifi of this book, and the short story nature kept things moving!

A high school is transported to another world. Teachers an students try to find ways to survive. Also, something in the woods is trying to kill them. I cannot wait until book 2 arrives later this year!

I don't buy into tarot, but the art in this book was too good to pass up. Just stunning portraits of so many different kinds of dragons.

The book opens with an action scene as a group of Buffalo soldiers escorting a stagecoach are attacked. There's immediate danger, and then werewolves get involved, and it's SOLID. This is book 2; I wish I'd started at book 1.

I didn't remember backing this on Kickstarter. It's a fast-read zine, and I wish I'd enjoyed it more. It just kinda came off as... mood, not story. Which, if that's what the author was going for, cool, but it's not usually what I enjoy in my reading.

I'd heard such good things about this story, I was eager to read it. I picked it up with Christmas money, and... it's decent? I enjoyed it, but felt like I was missing pieces of the story. As long as it is, it felt rushed to me once I got past the opening act.

Wallace the Brave is a great webcomic. I love the kids, the family dynamics, and it's often just hilarious. I was thrilled to find this paperback collection!

My mother-in-law bought me a first edition! This book came out in 1939, the same year as the vaunted movie. It's pretty obvious Thompson was forced to use characters from the first book almost exclusively, and she didn't like it. This was NOT the best Oz book I've ever read!

I've wanted to read this for a long time, and it finally came out in a compact edition! Woo! Joker goes sane, Batman is too violent, and the two face off against each other. I really, really enjoyed this far more than I expected to!

I'm in this anthology under my old name, Jonathon Mast! The stories are all FAST reads, though the quality varies a LOT.

This diary comic hits me hard. It describes my struggles with depression so, so well. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it.

This one was recommended to me, and I really enjoyed it! Gertrude is the only goblin living in human lands. She suffers daily abuse, though her adopted human father does what he can to protect her. And then goblins attack, and Gertrude is tasked with protecting the bratty human princess.

I've backed Landi's books on Kickstarter repeatedly. She writes no-spice romantasy that hits the spot for me when I need something quiet. Celia cares for dragons hatched with birth defects. Darian works for a general store. Magic is illegal, so Celia hides what she does.
