Well, a couple of weeks ago I ended up with a shit-ton of overtime, and decided to reward myself with some bookage. And they finally got here today! Looking forward to digging into them.
My Father’s Day present to myself. Baked some banana bread and got some wraps from the new Lebanese place down the hill, the Charcoal Pit Mediterranean Grill, for me, Poppy, and the kid. Excellent, as always. Back to work in a couple of days; woe, etc. Vacation is always too short.
Yeah, Zuck’s pretty much a walking example of that classic Spider-Man/Sauron meme. Only much, much stupider.
If you see this, post a goth girl! (Hard to get more goth than a teenage necromancer with a skeleton hand)
Bret, as is his wont, says a lot of true and alarming stuff. Being a historian fucking sucks sometimes, yanno?
Kira Bonehand, teenage necromancer, built to be a long-term antagonist for the party, but they beat her up and then kidnapped her into being their friend.
Neat! I’ve always like rakshasas. Here’s one I did a while back. One of these days I’m gonna get to sicc one on my gaming crew.
By my count, I’ve had two days off in the last month, only one of which was in this year. Running a bit low on vim and vigor at the moment.
Hey, I was 13, whadda ya want? (Also, Miller’s art was PRISTINE in this series.)
Just made my mom a Christmas card, thought I might share it with you lot. Hairy Fishmas to all!
The Forest in Winter at Sunset by Théodore Rousseau, at the Met. The image doesn’t do it justice; in person it’s stunning.
“Am gai/la fobh fearas feuchta” “I am a spear/ that roars for blood” That one actually lives rent free on my chest, where I had it tattooed about 13 years ago.
The Offspring and I getting dolled up for the damp squib that was Haverhill’s Halloween Costume Walk.
Some folks just show up in meditation and say “it’s dangerous to go alone; take this” and hand you a little blue scorpion-centaur girl. Say hi, everybody.
So, todays “exit strategy” seems to be going about as well as that last one from a few years back… Yeah, this thing is STILL holding onto that lamppost outside the Haverhill Public Library, 43 years later. God DAMN, but they built to last, didn’t they?
Io Hekate Io Ho, for those who know. Dark moon Deipnon offerings to Herself; I’ll drop them at the crossroads in a little while. May this night of balance between brilliant day and blessed night be the herald of balance for all of us.
