I can no longer even see Manhattan outside my Brooklyn window due to Canadian wildfire smoke. But, sure, suicidal MAGA lemmings, keep denying that climate change is real, that climate change is making wildfires more frequent and devastating, and that Trump/G.O.P. are making climate change worse.
You can barely see Manhattan outside my window today because of thick Canadian wildfire smoke, which is horrendous for our heath. Climate change is literally shortening our lives as Trump and the G.O.P. have ended all U.S. efforts to stop it. Just insane.
@nytimes.com Sorry, NT Times, but major, consistent combat isn’t “testing a truce” — it’s war.
I’m thrilled that the NYS Assembly’s top anti-hunger leader is going to the State Senate.
@bradlander.bsky.social Big congrats to Brad Lander, who will be an outstanding member of Congress, who will stand up for the most vulnerable, as he has his whole career.
Utterly insanely, this is an actual RNC fundraising email that’s supposed to be from Trump to me. Other than sounding like a pathetic 13-year-old begging a crush to respond to texts, this overlooks the obvious: had I actually blocked that account, I would not have received that email.
These are pretty darn good, but not as good as either the studio or live version by Booker T. & the MGs.
Just saw this sign in my neighborhood. I’m dying to know the backstory. Is this someone trying to avoid a lawsuit or someone attempting a meet cute?
Who could have possibly imagined this would be a choke point for oil transport? Anyone with a map or even a short-term memory, that’s who.
An absolutely vile fundraising e-email from the President of the United States.
Actual fundraising email just got from Trump, asking if I blocked him (I assume because I consistently refuse to donate to him). One consistent behavior from the repellent Trump and his minions: they revel in never accepting that “no means no.”’
Yes, this is a real email I received from the President of the United States. I had to tell you that in case you thought it was a part of a text exchange between eight graders.
So now Trump claims to be a professional graphic designer, apparently with lots of time on his hands.
Citing supposed insider information from the FBI as a reason to donate campaign funds is an appalling and dangerous misuse of Presidential power. Doing such right after he’s launched a unilateral, unconstitutional war is a new low level of depravity, even for Trump.
I’ve previously gotten very weird fundraising emails from Trump, but this is downright bizarre. First, even during holiday nights, the White House situation room would have national security employees staffing the president in case of emergency. Second, his top worry there is campaign fundraising?
Check out the fundraising email to me from JD Vance saying I’ve been selected to be in his “Vice-Presidential Cabinet,” a non-existent entity. But if I call him on his bluff, could I join with other members of his “Cabinet” to get him removed from office under the 25th Amendment?
I don’t usually celebrate Chanukah because I am secular and because the holiday has been often misused by Israel’s ultra-Right to cheerlead for the most extreme forms of anti-democratic militarism, but given the mass murder of Jews simply for celebrating the holiday, I will honor Chanukah this year
American politics is so broken, exhibit # infinity: anonymous Right wing super pac mailing attacking Mickie Sherrill for supposedly not being Left wing enough. Similar to Musk-funded attacks on Harris. Note this doesn’t even promote a candidate — just wants Sherrill leaners NOT to vote at all.
I am moved every year watching the NYC Marathon, which always includes a few dozen formally acknowledged world-class athletes, plus tens of thousands of other world class participants, Including those raising $ for www.hungerfreeamerica.org Please honor them & fight the hunger crises by donating.
