My partner was tabling at a con and Duncan Gutteridge happened to be her neighbour, so she got me a signed print! Drawing the box art for Sonic 2 as a kid is like a core memory for me so that was pretty cool, and funnily enough he now teaches art at the college where we first met

The intern in charge of art direction for every Square Enix rpg: "What if we ditched the iconic, beloved art style, and made it look more like a cgi remake of Terry Pratchett's Truckers?"
How is being able to see every freckle, strand of hair, blade of grass, and pebble helping anyone to immerse themselves in world where half the inhabitants look like this?
One of these is a F2P gacha game from Konami, the other is a £50 game from Square Enix
I mean I've got a pretty good idea of how they might've approached it, but their current disdain for pixel art would to be too great a hurdle
Redraw of Ramza using the same dimensions as the Ivalice Chronicles (couldn't find clean versions) and hd mobile sprites, way more room to play with than I expected, would've been interesting to see how they'd have approached a non-chibi design
Make it exist, make it look good, make it look gooder, start to believe you're good at drawing, make it look even gooder, realise you're not that good at drawing, abandon it, think of something else to draw, repeat
As is tradition I started with the shittest thing I've ever drawn, then gave up a few months after the 5th/6th iteration
