I don't know if Tom King started the Iraq war. But it his 'wedding' issue of Batman (#50) hurt a lot of local comic stores. It was solicited as a wedding between Batman and Catwoman. Pre-orders surged, only to be cancelled when it was revealed before release that they don't actually get married.
The dumb thing about MAGA conservatives getting mad that Elliot Page plays Achilles in Nolan's THE ODYSSEY is THAT HE DOESN'T EVEN PLAY ACHILLES!!! Instead he plays a person who's sacrificed by both sides in the film -- a role that many conservatives and libs cast trans people for in real life.
Every college rock band from my 20s that can still go out on tour agrees with this statement.
Feeling down? Just remember that no one fictional or real has had a worse day than Guts, and even he is believing in YOU. PS - Happy Heavenly 60th Birthday to Kentaro Miura.
One thought I cannot escape — it’s beyond stupid that right before he reboots the X-Men, Feige will bring the old cast back for one final movie. There are many factors contributing to the creeping death of superhero movies, but the biggest one is our inability to get over our own nostalgia.
This led to the 'silent issue' of the book (#18), which dropped right after Grant Morrison killed Damian off in Batman Incorporated. It remains one of the best, most beautifully rendered US superhero comics of all time. And it's crazy you can still buy this amazing issue for cover price.
It was a Batman story where Batman needed to be less like Batman or the kid he was raising to inherit his future would become a brutal mass murderer. Suddenly Damian went from being a punk-ass Robin to a central character, giving Batman stakes he never had before. Plus Gleason's art was 👌!
Charged with using a homemade plasma cannon?!? This happened in my city, and we have two choices here: Turn this kid into Iron Man or Doctor Doom. Get this kid out of handcuffs and give him a scholarship and/or defense contract. What are we even doing here, people!?!
On today of all days, we must remember: Until ALL of us are free, none us are.
Crazy that the person who directed and starred in these films simply *stopped* making movies.
That they have a MIDDLE INITIAL and it is the letter B has kind of made my Sunday.
Really beyond ecstatic for this drawing my kid drew for me based on my all time favorite video game. She was timid to share this with me, but she knocked it out of the park. She’s not even in high school yet, and literally designed the characters better than Nintendo did!
Looks like we are one step closer to the the clamshell E-Reader one of the supporting characters used in IT FOLLOWS!
If Gas Prices was an arcade game, I just hit my all time personal high score — thanks to a pointless war started by our diseased, addled, rotting corpse of a President, which he started unilaterally. Hope the ‘egg prices’ were worth it.
On the topic of EUPHORIA, this man has been giving audiences memorable performances for decades, and the best Hollywood has given him is to kill him with an inexplicably dumb smoke monster on LOST all because he asked to be paid as much as the white actors on the show.
The game on the left was far from perfect. But they did at least run a focus group with a bunch of Furries to make sure the character designs were looking right before putting it out. This new Star Fox looks like a photorealistic nightmare from the uncanniest valleys of Hell.
The way that this person misspelled Bionicle is a real Clive Barker vibe this morning.
Our species is remarkable in that we are always ready to invent Devils and 'demonic spells' so we can overlook the very simple, human evil that exists right in front of our eyes every day.
