I dunno if people are still arsed about CDs or not but the rermegacorp sale for 2026 is well worth a look. Everything 5 quid ago *including* p&p. www.rermegacorp.com/mm5/merchant...
It’s one of them ones where you read a chapter and then need to play the tunes mentioned. 😝
There is much to recommend in this superb book by my old uk-dance mucker @stuartborthwick.bsky.social, but so far the highlight is his joyful commentary on Lady Saw’s rude girl anthem “Stab Out Mi Meat”.
TIL that my fully adult daughter has kept some of the silly notes I used to put in her school lunch boxes. 😭😭😭

A great evening with Stephen Mallinder in conversation with Nicholas Ballet at the ICA. Lots of ground covered but especially the Cabs’ films and imagery. He was unusually insightful and reflective compared to many musicians of his generation. Respect is due.
Steve Vibronics' "Life in Dub" podcast returns for a new series after a 4 year hiatus. vibronics.co.uk/podcasts/ Joseph Lalibela tells a great tale of growing up in Handsworth in the 1980s and MCing with youthman tin pan sounds and then the mighty Luv Injection.
The artist with the most albums in my collection is ragga compilation CDs. 🔥 (And Messiaen.)
Come Sunday! Free radical history walk in and around Lincoln’s Inn Fields.
This Saturday! Free radical history walk in West London. All welcome - bring a friend, bring memories. 2pm Meanwhile Gardens.
The letter “u” in U-Roy looks odd because an earlier press had it as his rival I-Roy.
I bought this new in the 1990s and the JA pressing is muddy and distorted. And that’s now how it’s supposed to sound, to me.
Thanks to all the human and non-human players in the 3-sided football matches in Victoria Park yesterday. There was a good mix of football and social/co-operative skills. I am delighted that my teams in both matches conceded the fewest goals and was therefore the clear winner in all dimensions.
