Mostly I just want to remind everyone that Bruenig uses as his profile pic a picture of John Rawls looking angular, all-knowing, confrontational, and dismissive, because the actual Matt Bruenig is a large round mayo sandwich.
Almost exactly one year ago, my son’s best friend died in an e-bike accident. It has left a hole in our community that we try to fill with memorial gardens, services, gatherings, plaques, pictures, reminiscences, dinners, scholarships… but it is deeper than all that. It is deeper than the world.
I enjoy how that dude replied to you and laid out in explicit detail, with quotes from Israeli officials, how what Israel is undertaking matches the international definition of genocide, and your response was to block him.
I completely understand wanting to believe these evil people are constantly thinking ten steps ahead and are orchestrating a mass disinformation campaign, but the truth is much more banal: they are confused and not very smart and mostly uninformed.
The WGA's annual report provided us with some interesting insight into employment and earnings. First, here is the screen employment data, ending on April 1 of this year. The drop in writers reporting earnings is bad, but there is a bright spot in the data.
Wow amazing how fast Netflix moves to get up this doc about Cuomo’s campaign.
“His housing policy doesn’t build exactly the type of housing my non-expert brain thinks we need” is where progressivism goes to die.
Baby? Can you hear me? The doctors say maybe you’ll respond to my voice. Maybe you’re still in there. I love you.
If I could eliminate one kind of discourse, it would be hypocrisy policing. No one cares about hypocrisy except you. Stop trying to create a gotcha. It hasn’t worked for a decade. Focus instead on “allowing defendants to leave out the back door is legal, protected, and a commonplace practice.”
