Rereading some of these, diving back into some after setting aside a long while ago. Also watched Letters From Baghdad on BBC4 the other night, about Lawrence contemporary Gertrude Bell. Also, the new 4K TV upscales my Lawrence of Arabia 50th anniversary Blu ray beautifully.
Inspired by another film lover on here (sorry, I forget who), I also got a Lawrence of Arabia souvenir programme off eBay. This one isn't in too bad nick:
I've loved all the Craig Thomas spy thrillers I've read but this first timer is a chore. Mitchell Gant isn't an interesting protagonist outside of the two Firefox books, and here he barely figures. It's the most Tom Clancy like, an outlandish idea weighed down by endless machinations. ,
