‘For Your Eyes Only’ was Rose of the Year 2015, and is my #RoseoftheDay from the garden. It’s a striking Persica hybrid; blooms open from a deep pink bud into pink-peach colour with a distinctive eye, and fade to pale pink retaining the eye. #gardening #roses

Good morning. Today’s #RoseoftheDay from the garden is the David Austin variety ‘Roald Dahl’. It works well with a blue/purple companion, I use lavender and Verbena bonariensis. Still very dry so having to water the beds. Wishing you a great day. #gardening #UKgardens.

Today’s #RoseoftheDay from the garden is ‘That’s Jazz’ with its deep red, velvety blooms. I used to have it as a short climber up a pergola, but moved it to a new location in our small orchard where it now seems very happy with life. Enjoy your day. #gardening #roses

Today’s garden #RoseoftheDay is the UK rose of the year 2024, ‘Meteor’. Still can’t make up my mind how much I like it, hence I’ve left it in a pot for now. The bi-coloured blooms change with age (yellow to red) so the plant is always bearing a spectrum of colours. #gardening #roses

And the new rose bed is planted up. All we need now is (desperately) a good dose of rain and a year’s patience. New roses in this bed are Joie de Vivre, Happy Retirement x 2, Iceberg, The Churchill and For Your Eyes Only x 2; they join Princess Anne standard and Elizabeth #roseWednesday #gardening

The walled garden at #NationalTrust Felbrigg is looking magnificent. Well worth a visit if you are anywhere near it. The gardening team do a fantastic job.
