Writer, Director, and freelance creative. Nicholl/AFF etc. Irrationally excited by mood boards and color palettes. Arsenal FC. Will comment on politics. He/his.
Soderbergh's new picture, The Christophers, is just A+ in every respect. Ian McKellen and Michaela Cole are both just so masterful. James Corden and Jessica Gunning are extremely satisfying as the old artist's grifting children. The whole movie is a warm bath of cranky wonderfulness. #filmsky
Norway! As an Arsenal supporter I'm against Man City so Haaland is a notorious figure. But I'm half-Norwegian, and Odegaard is hero in my house, so of course I'm supporting... Haaland is a beast. Whipped one in off a header and then megged a defender for a gorgeous low right corner. Brutal.
Lynne Ramsey’s Die My Love is a masterpiece. Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson turn in A+ performances. Seamus McGarvey’s photography captures frame after frame of dreamy beauty in 35mm. On mubi or Amazon etc
Super stoked this is finally out! A spot I wrote/directed for a collab between Crown Royal and Realtree starring Rob Rausch (The Traitors, Love Island) just dropped...
"With pleasure" isn't even in the shooting script at all. #nerdAlert
I was shooting a commercial in Nairobi and we wanted a scene with monkeys, so we went to City Park. We bought some bags of peanuts to lure the monkeys from vendors who sell them for that purpose. A monkey leaped in the air and ripped a bag out of my hands. Kind of intense and grim, tbh.
Apologies to everyone nominated for a Spirit Award this year... #filmsky
Exactly. And that reminds me of the time someone put up this Henry Cartier-Bresson photo up on a Flickr critique group without mentioning his name, wherein it was ripped to shreds for dumb "technical" reasons, such as the bicyclist not being in focus or something.
The fella behind "Friendsgiving is gay." His username is a big bowl of "what the actual fuck???" And what does "ball knower" mean?
We're making a movie! Still early days, but after a couple years of rolling a tiny pebble into a chunky snowball, it’s time to say it out loud… It's dark comedy crime drama: Fargo v Uncut Gems with the moral rot of Breaking Bad More at seamuslynchfilm.com #filmsky #scriptsky
Heartbreaking and brilliant. Josh O’Connor is magnetic, Paul Mescal delivers #TheHistoryOfSound #filmsky
Well, this doesn't exactly suck... My darkly comedic crime drama, "The Sad and Tawdry Story of Seamus Lynch," goes two rounds in Austin. Congrats to the other second rounders and big ups to those who advanced past that. Onward! #scriptsky
So, I’m inferring that George Will didn’t need a college degree. Other than his PhD from Princeton, or his master’s from Oxford, not to mention his bachelor’s from Trinity. But he surely sent his kids to trade schools…. What’s that?
Here's Sollazzo in the Luca Brasi assassination scene. The visual cues are basically the same. (Shot by Gordon Willis, you know the director)
