One of the great Summer in America albums. All angular arpeggios and soft synthesizers that come out of the speakers looking for the vast American night lands. Beautiful, often poignant playing by Pat with Lyle Mays, a record of a bygone era that’s still fantastically within our spiritual reach.
Friday night music club. Summer bliss edition. Anthony Calonico’s sublime Spacious Heart album. Folky, jazzy, ambient… softness and dappled light. Crack a beer and start the weekend just right. A gorgeous album.
Always say yes to a quick 30 minute beer with your friends because that hour and a half could be the best 6 hours of your life.
The international album of July 4th. Summer bliss with a conscience. Just beautiful in every way.
One of the great summer albums. All unstuck textures and meandering synths and guitars. Even has an impromptu solo from Herbie Hancock.

Segue - Pacifica. A bit of a dub techno outlier in that this is an album of largely sun-blasted dub with a techno undertow and summery ambience. Sounds fabulous at this time of year. #nowplaying
“The Ground Above” the new Beth Orton album is out today and it’s a quietly devastating listen. Sunny folk/jazz/pop rubbing shoulders with an aching vulnerability and the worries of the world we can all identify with. Simultaneously heartfelt and glorious often in the same song. Maybe her best yet.
Now this is a wild summer jam. Sturgill Simpson’s alter ego struts his harder rocking, still country/Americana tinged leanings to stormy but joyous perfection. #nowplaying
