Sharing this here from PhD student at York Uni, Luca Resti. Interesting and impactful #GameAudio research in case you want to take part and share your opinions and experience.
Just came across this morning with a picture of a paper prototype for a Sound Design tool I worked on during a HCI course in Uni (circa 2010). Stepping away from a computer for designing tools is refreshing and eye opening to gather feedback. Great memories and learnings from that period!
Joana Moll and Wassim Z. Alsindi conversations on Privacy, Power and the Future of Internet. I think this was particularly *enlightening*.
L-Acoustics panel on Spatial Audio solutions towards personal and human transformations.
Some highlights for me this morning from #Sónar+D. Kickstarter's co-founder Yancey Strickler on Dark Forests and Private Internet.
Getting ready for #Sónar+D day two. I bring with me more of these cards to promote our Afecto project from @afectivo.es. Happy to give you one if you see me!
Great talk by Nao Tokuni (Neutone) at #Sónar+D Physicality, Manhattan Project, Low Carbon Footprint, Creativity.
I've never taken Adderall but I think that having easy access here to jamón serrano + olive oil from supermarkets at a reasonable price (for now 🤞) has helped me with focus and concentración a lot. It's probably one of my unfair advantages :)
Here is another interesting piece of hardware: an old portable phone from the US Army used during WWII. This one is *very* heavy.
As part of the phones collection, here is a comparison across generations (from bottom to top): present smartphone, Motorola folding phone, non-duplex phone dated around WWII.
It's Friday and I'm back to running some experiments with local AI on the M4.
Next week I'm attending Sónar+D in Barcelona. I'll be arriving to the city on Wednesday night. I'll be happy to meet, chat audio and share some anecdotes if you are around!
While working on one of our projects at @afectivo.es this morning, I've just remembered one of my GDC 2024 talk slides. Old and simple vs new, shiny and complex. *Finger pointing at a sign* Full presentation PDF is here in case you missed it (free access) gdcvault.com/play/1034857...
Third (and last) day at #SouthSummit26 Madrid! As @afectivo.es, we are at the Madrid Innovation stand today from 12pm onwards. #innovation #sustainability #ai #software #tools
First morning at #SouthSummit26 Madrid! I've heard some echoes from the past projected into the future while grounded in the present. Alignment, convergence, growth, scaling, AI (of course), Europe and beyond. Now it's time for the most important activity of the day: having lunch back at home.
In case you didn't know, to hopefully avoid surprises, you can set rate/budget limits in the GitHub dashboard. Click on the green "+ New Budget" button and select Copilot. It took me some time to find it this morning.
The participants in this study don't seem to be very diverse, sadly.
The perceived productivity impact seems to be about the same/somewhat better. I think this also relates to my experiences with e.g. Claude, though it depends a lot on the task, programming language and my previous knowledge of the problem I'm trying to solve with code.
There's some interesting data on concerns. Majority of people in the study still concerned about quality and security (no surprise, I guess).
