Fingers crossed that this eggplant parmigiana turns out good. Brother planted some eggplant back in the spring and we had a bunch come up and it was the first thing that came to mind.
My last nine insta posts and what they say about me… Pinned ones don’t count because they old, but I have music on streaming services. The other ones: I really wanted people to come to a gig I had and posted some banjo videos to show off the banjo. Also I wanted to talk shit about Tuberville.
Someone also took and gave me this rad picture of me from the show.
The highlight of it all for me was getting a band to back me for “Alabama Über Alles”, my re-worked cover of the Dead Kennedys’ classic “California Über Alles”.
That little smirk on my face is me doing what makes me most happy. Just strumming away with wild abandon.
Playing a show at a horse barn with indie bands and I show up in a silverbelly hat, tie-dye pearl snap shirt, a painted denim cowboy vest, Wrangler jeans, and cowboy boots carrying an acoustic guitar and banjo and start belting out folk/cowpunk. It’s probably the most natural progression of things
I could FEEL that several folks there were stunned as my set veered into the more and more absurd. There was these brief moments of, “What the fuck am I watching and hearing?” followed by, “I’m totally along for this ride, hell yeah!”
I use AI as a butt of the joke. A topic of a song criticizing it. Everything about it is artificial and nothing about it is intelligent.
In addition to playing music and songwriting/singing, I also do weird performance art like preaching the label of Dr Bronner’s soap. Although, that may end up being just a one-time thing.
I found a recipe for chicken biryani a few months ago, an finally made it tonight. I also made some raita and mango lassi to go with it. Picked some garlic naan up from the store. Good lord, was it good.
The fifth string pip? Why, it’s a small Philips head screw that’s had a slot cut into it to accommodate the string. And I have no clue why whoever strung this wrapped the string around so much, I’m not sure it’s necessary, but…eh. Since it doesn’t seem to harm playability, it’s no big deal to me.
The way the neck is mounted slays me. Torx head deck screws. They’re probably between 2 and 3 inches long. Can’t adjust for action(string height from fretboard) at the moment, but as it is, it’s fine.
I was glad when he left Bama. So glad that I didn’t bother finding out where he went. And now he’s going to Atlanta? Life as a Falcons fan is pain.
